3 dollar AFM adapter

I just wanted to let you guys know that at pick and pull today i fouldn an AFM adaptort hat fits the s4 AFM nearly perfectly. It's also contoured inside like the hks ones. Unfortunatly' Im not sure what car it came off of as the AFM was just sitting up by the counter. But it was a bosch sensor and the adapter was attached with countersunk philips head screws I'll try to find what car has this sensor next time im there. The adapter fits perfectly, the rectangular area is exactly the same, only the bolt holes are different,.. i had to oval the bolt holes a little with my dremal but other than that its a perfect fit,.. keep your eye open next time your at pick and pull.

Please post a picture if possible. Bolt holes are no problem. The important thing is a smooth round to square transition.

I just wish i knew what car it was off of to help you guys out,.. what manufactorer used bosch sensors?,.. it looked like our afm but a little bigger and had 3 rubber mounts on the bottom.

Looks good to me... except did you use wood screws? lol

I think about half the cars on the planet use Bosch sensors.

The stock AFM is based on the Bosch L-tronic (I think), so a lot of Euro cars run the same type of AFM.
It's still plastic though. :P

i think we share the same maf as the MX6, Older MR2's and the Escort gts . well those are the ones i have seen first hand. i know there are more. i bought a adaptor that was made for a MX6 for 15 bucks from autozone. its a spectre 8141 air flow adapter. (thanks to John64 for hooking me up with it )

na, thoose are the screws from the AFM i got it off of,.. they are the same thread as our AFM

Ted, its not plastic its aluminum, i hit it with an 80 grit sanding wheel to clean the junkyard crud out from the inside so it may look a little weird.

the afm its from isnt exactly like ours,.. it looked a little bigger and the flapper was mounted different and it had a different bolt pattern and mounts on the bottom.
