3" cat converter bolt in options??

Im lookin for 3" cat converters (spare the jokes :D )...

so far bonez only offers 2.5" and random tech's doesnt come w/out having to weld shit. What company makes a GOOD cat that will withstand the heat of the rotary and still flow extremely well that still retains a BOLT IN design?

Asked this on another post: Is there any difference in sizes of the main cats between all models of the FC?

Thanks,
Jeff

none. what are you tyring to bolt it into??.. your stock 2.5" exhaust? racing beat? any local shop can weld on the pipes for cheap.

im bolting to stock header + a 3" hks hiper cat-back...i want to be able to (when the time comes) do a TII swap and be able to bolt a 3" downpipe to it.

just get a slip fit cat, and then clamp it in there with the the easy seal clamps found here.

my friend uses this method on his eclipse and it works very well, the exhaust is also very easy to remove and work with since its just clamped.

So nobody really makes a 3" cat that will bolt in place. I know that racing beat makes one, but I think that it will only bolt in with their downpipe and exhaust. I'd really be interested in hearing who makes a 3" bolt in cat. I hate having to have the muffler shop weld stuff because they always do a shitty job (they'll use smaller flangers that inhibit air flow).

How about a 2.5"

Scott 89t2 04-19-02 07:44 PM

well your cat back will only be 2.5" at the flange...

dynomax makes them I just got a 2.5 from summit racing . 129.00 was gonna get a 3 but went withthe 2.5

yea, but 2.5 is not 3.0. I'm going to be running a full 3" system(HKS downpipe, cat???, HKS Hiper Exhaust) so I really need a 3.0" cat.

you can get a dynomax cat from summit I was going to get the 3 inch but went with the 2.5 . They say at dynomax it will withstand the heat. comes with a warrenty. I just got mine on today and it work perfectly. I got the flanges welded at Midas for 40.00 it has to be 21 inches long to fit between the header and y pipe.
