2nd gen puffs smoke at idle
 

i am posting for my friend.. he has a 2nd gen turbo II 88 model

motor is a crate motor from mazda with 8,000 miles on it so far (0 when he got it)

car recently just started doing this.... took it to mazda and they did a compression test motor had perfect compression... did not disclose any numbers though...

they replaced the PURGE valve and left the vacuum line disconnected.. car did not smoke anymore.... found that they left is disconnected reconnected it and it started puffing out huge amounts of smoke at idle and only at idle.. when it is disconnected again is doesnt smoke at all but when the car sits say over night and is started in the morning the car idles like crap and the motor shakes horribley and this is with brand new motor and tranny mounts...

the VAC at idle is right dead on -16

we can not figure out why when the purge valve is conected it puffs out lots of smoke and we must disconnect it.

the problem with disconnecting it is that we lose oil through the loose hose little by little..

Purge hose, can u throw up a pic?

not at this time but what i can tell you is that it is located on the driver side of the motor above the spark plugs.... its a black valve with a vacuum hols going to the bottom of it
