245's will fit on the rear rim right?
 

245/50/16 will not rub anything on the rear of our cars using the stock rim right?

if you can fit it on the stock rim, it'd probably fit. 225's is pushing it.

try a 245/45 - thats already a meaty meaty tire...the 45 series will look better than 50's bc the 50 series ratio means the sidewall will be a little larger on an already large tire. u should JUST be able to squeeze them on

Im not worried about the rim. Im worried about the tire hitting the spring.

Wont a 45 series tire throw my speedo off? Plus then technically I should get a 45 in the front. I dont know how sensitive the ABS computer is. The rears would be spinning faster than the front.

I have 235/45/17 on my rear and I think I can go 245/45.

The 245 and 16 are measurements, the 45 or 50 (or whatever you end up with) is a ratio of the hieght of the sidewall to the width of the tire, so as you use an increasingly wide tire, you need a smaller ratio to maintain the same height.

for example, if I wanted to use a 245 width tire on on my stock TII rims (or any 16" rims) I'd use a 45 ratio tire.

stock is 205/55/16, so 205*.55 = 112.75

and 112.75/245 = .46021 which is much closer to a 45 ratio then 50

Of course this is all theory, using such a wide tire on the stock rims will cause the to be bowed in quite a bit, maybe enough that to get back to the stock height you'd need a 50 ratio.

205/55 (stock) 225/50 and 245/45 are all the same diameter..

but I really wouldn't run 245 on stock 7" wide rims... you'd have more rubber on the ground with 225's as the would be flat.

I ran 245 x 50's on the back to fill out the wheel well. No problem. Specs for that tire is a rim width of 7"-8.5"
245 x 45 needs a rim 7.5"-9". Ran them with 215 x 55 on front. Just a word of caution. Try and keep the diameter fairly even front & rear.

I am running 225/50/15's all the way around on stock rims, i do not get rub, nor does it throw my handling off. I need a wider rim though, cause 225 on a 6" wide rim is pushing it. I would like to get convert rims (i want to stay 15") because they are 6.5" wide :-)

I've seen 245s on a stock S5 TII rim... Are they a little wider? 245s are beefy. :)

damn guyz im running 275/40/18 in the back
and 215/35/18 in the front but wanna get bigger tires in the front or it will rub

ofcource me and 87GSR are gonna have bigger tires cuz of our rims
and i know my offset nust be wayyyy off on speedo ratio
anyone know what the offset would be?
like how off it makes speedometer

i have a set of 16x7.5s. I'll either have 225s all around or 245s in the back and 225s in the front.

The offset has nothing to do with speedometer error. Different size (diameter) tires will vary the speedometer.

If you want wider tires then get wider wheels. Don't be so cheap. All because they will physically fit the wheel doesn't mean that they be using the contact patch to it's best use.

Not that its any of your business, Im getting 17x9's later in the summer/year. However "what rims should I get with this tire combo" was not an asked question.

My bad. I'm sorry I assumed that much. It's just a reflex after seeing umpteen million posts asking "what's the widest tires I can put on my wheels" and the wheels in question are 6" or 7" stock widths when all they want to hear is some absurd answer like "yeah, 335's will be cool on those 5.5" rims".
