2 Stroke oil in 13B ok???

I know its alright for the 12A i used to do it all the time but is it still the same with the 13B??

whats a good mixture for a 1987 N/A 13B how many ounces per gallon?? if at all...:uhh:

Bronze MFP 11-28-07 01:31 PM

due to the displacement differences and spark plug gap, it's not advised to run 2stroke oil in a 13b.

Jeppy 11-28-07 01:34 PM

Sweet thanks i wont try it then...

Bronze MFP 11-28-07 01:35 PM

im messing with you. 2 stroke oil is fine. but this topic has been beat to death, use the search function, there is literally a ton of information out there on this topic.

Jeppy 11-28-07 01:38 PM

haha Fuc)<er lololol cool same mixture then??? i dont wanna f'n read through all that bull....lolol thanks tho saved me some trubble same mixture or what i actually forgotwhat it was.. like 12oz per 12 gallons?? once per gallon simplified???

Bronze MFP 11-28-07 01:41 PM

when you search, theres a checkbox for only searching thread titles, i'd use that. it cuts down on about 90% of the BS a regular search brings up.
as for the mix ratio, that sounds right, but dont take my word for it.

Jeppy 11-28-07 01:42 PM

haha cool thanks

I have used premix in all my RX7's. I also always keep the omp working also.

I have seen 13B with premix used and without.

The engines I have seen without premixing had worn down ends of apex seals while the center was like new from the OMP injectors.

Tear down a premixed and omp engine and the rotor apex seals look brand new and even wear all the way across.

Premix is only good for engines that run, as it lubricates more of the rotors surface. Keeps things cooler, and less friction @ higher rpms.

Idemitsu Rotary lube works great!

Designed For Use In Gasoline Engines Only
Improved Sealing Performance
Provides Additional Wear Protection For Apex Seals, Side Seals, etc.
Keeps Fuel Injectors Clean For Reduced Maintenance
Minimizes Exhaust Port Clogging
Reduces Friction
Application: 1/2 oz. Per 1 Gallon of Gasoline
A special blend of base oils reduces deposits and subsequent exhaust port clogging. As a result, your rotary will maintain the power at which it was designed.

Special detergent/dispersant additives keep you fuel injectors clean to reduce maintenance.

Provides additional lubrication for apex and side seals to increase seal life and increase efficiency of engine.

Special additives allow for better sealing of the chamber, creating greater efficiency and more power.

You really should learn to search........

Without OMP, 1 oz per 1 gallon (128 parts fuel to 1 part 2 stroke)
With OMP, 3-5 oz per FULL tank

Jeppy 11-28-07 03:40 PM

wow that seams like a really week mixture (with OMP) i used to mix my 12A with one once per gallon and they run with an OMP dont they? what are the negitave's of running 2 much oil? smokes - loss of power -

Roen 11-28-07 03:46 PM

Smoke.....lotsa smoke

The OMP injects oil anyway, so running 128:1 2-stroke then becomes overkill, once you factor the crankcase oil that's already present.

1 oz per gallon is recommended if you've disabled/removed the OMP. With the OMP, that just serves as backup lube, in case of failure, your engine won't die immediately.

glhs0867 11-28-07 04:11 PM

why would you guys say the manufacturer of the premix used in the infamous 787 4 rotor is no good. Smokes..you guys have no idea what your talking about.

Quit trying the search function and try it for yourself and then tell us about your experiences.

Roen 11-28-07 04:15 PM

Um....I do premix with the OMP.

And I have a nice case of 12 of Idemitsu Synthetic Motor Oil as well as a case of Idemitsu Rotary Premix. I think that would qualify as knowing what I'm talking about.

FCTURBODEUX 11-28-07 04:51 PM

i was told to use a couple capfulsl of 2 cycle oil per about 10 gallons is that cool? o ya and since i am asking a question how bout a 2 for one reply lol.

The metal rod that lifts the lever on the omp when the throttle is open is broken on my s4 tII so it doesnt lift the lever is there still some oil going to the oil inkectors???

ericgrau 11-28-07 07:17 PM

The OMP provides extra oil during high throttle. If the connection to throttle is broken, then you aren't getting enough oil and need to premix. I dunno how much, but I'll make a guess that it's almost as much as having no OMP at all.

You use 1 oz per gallon w/o OMP.
1/2 oz per gallon w/ OMP.
More than that won't do any damage, but it might smoke and hurt mpg a little.
Any TCW-13 2 stroke oil is fine, but Idemitsu is da shizzle.
The purpose of internal lubrication is to reduce friction, improve sealing around the compression chamber at the apex and side seals, and reduce wear on these same seals plus the housing.

For more info/debates, search.

anyone can buy oil. that doesn't mean anything, so what your saying is your car smokes?

time to rebuild it!

you make no sense. WTF did you mean smokes alot?

You must have a beat engine, cause you said earlier premix causes loss of power..WTF.. never happens.

Roen 11-28-07 09:21 PM

what? I said if you use too much oil, it will cause your car to smoke, that's all. A nice thin film of blue-gray smoke, to be specific.

When did I say anything about loss of power?

FirebirdSlayer666 11-29-07 12:11 AM

I'm confused with this guy too. Any engine that burns oil is going to smoke. Mine smokes on start up because I run 16oz of 2 stoke in the tank with my OMP(I do it because I'm not seeing a level change in the crank at all). Is it time to rebuild my motor? Nope. It has some miles and yeah the oil control rings are worn I'm sure but it runs great and pulls strong. You my friend need to go back to tech class

glhs0867 11-29-07 06:06 AM

I don't know what to tell ya guys. If your cars smoke thats fine.

I have seen plenty that don't.

Maybe its cause you have built up oil in cats or mufflers..etc. I don't have any of those parts.

I only get a little smoke when over 6000rpms.

Premix lives forever!

OMP and Premix. owns all.

2-stroke oil burns smokey... haven't you ever seen a gas-powered weed eater, or a lawn boy lawn mower, or 2-stroke dirt bikes? All emit some blue smoke, even when brand new... this has NOTHING to do w/ needing a rebuild.

glhs0867 11-29-07 10:32 AM

You guys know that most expensive premix is smokeless.

glhs0867 11-29-07 10:38 AM

Can't understand why everyone fights about silly stuff.:wallbash:

if your engine smokes great!

FCTURBODEUX 11-29-07 01:19 PM

LESSON TODAY SMOKING IS GOOD! i gotta smoke a blunt to that lol

RotaMan99 11-29-07 04:23 PM

I use 1/2 ounce per gallon on my engine without the OMP with no ill effects.

Roen 11-29-07 04:26 PM

there really isn't a defined ratio for premix, though I would err on the side of over-oiling vs. under-oiling.
