2 quarts gone in only 800 miles

I've heard that 1 quart every 2500 miles is normal. I've searched and found that the brand and weight of oil could have a little affect. I put 10w40 synthetic blend in on the first time i changed the oil and then oil light came on after only about 800 miles. The oil light comes on when you're 2 quarts low right? so i searched and found that 10w30 mineral oil burns less quickly. Is this true and what else could cause the engine to burn oil this quickly. I had been driving it kinda hard, the first month of hearing a turbo can cause your foot to become lead. thanks.

I hear it was a quart every 1500 miles, but anyways. I would recommend not using synthetic, while its good for the turbo, it can also gum up the rotors. I use 20w-50 in my N/A and it runs beautifully. As for your other problem I have no idea, other than you could have a big leak?

check for leaks and I would avoid using 10w40 also

20W50 Castrol GTX is the perfect oil for a turbocharged rotary engine! Change every 2500 miles and call us if you're experiencing symptoms of headache, nausea or general low-compression. Do not ingest orally nor intravenously. 20W50 Castrol GTX also encourages you to "Drive Hard". Please follow these directions and be happy.

20W50 Castrol GTX is available at finer Automotive stores everywhere. It is not likely that you will find such liquid at your local pharmacy, but it's worth a try.

thats to much oil to be gone. do you know where all of it is going ?? i dont think synthetic is a good choice by the way

my car dont use any oil between changes (about 2000-2500 miles) why is that??? it scares me sometimes...but i have no problems with it! hmmm

It's not the type of oil. Driving hard may result in using a quart every 800-1000 miles, not 2 quarts. Is your engine getting tired? Do you have any signs of oil (blue)smoke in your exhaust? I am going to assume you don't have any obvious oil leaks. Also, check you oil metering pump adjustment.
