BlackRx7 04-03-03 09:58 PM

I installed one on my S4 TII ran it for about 6 months then sold it, what questions ya got?

Rx-7Blazin 04-03-03 10:12 PM

well for one i just was wondering when all the arrows are straght up that is the stock settings right?? also i havent figued out where to turn the car select and type do you know what it is for a 87 rx-7 Gxl non turbo?? i looked at an online manual but it sayd all rx-7's and would the settings be diff for a turbo and na car??

BlackRx7 04-03-03 10:27 PM

very true but the wiring is pretty much the same, I used the same wiring for my S4 and it worked fine..so I'd assuman S4 n/a would work too....

Rx-7Blazin 04-03-03 10:30 PM

well what about the knobs all up stock right

BlackRx7 04-03-03 10:35 PM

well before you can tune your car with an O2 sensor don't put it in the negative, just leave it at 0, you know it works when the nobs light up as you go through the rpms...

Rx-7Blazin 04-03-03 10:41 PM

so basicly leave it sitting to read stock settings before messing with it?? you can change settings after the knobs light up??

BlackRx7 04-03-03 10:45 PM

No, if you hooked up correctly the nobs will light up, but I just don't want you to lean it out and blow your enginel, though once you see an O2 widband you should be able to tune it correctly which usally involves leaning it out with N/As

Rx-7Blazin 04-03-03 10:55 PM

somone is supposed to be helping me hook it up
but also another thing i was wondering is should i buy a a/f ratio meter?? also can you adjust it to get better gas milage when you want it an adjust it adjust it to get better preformance??

BlackRx7 04-03-03 10:59 PM

Just for your info an a/f ratio meter really won't help you with tunning, but if your running really lean itllay show, seriously my A/F meter doesn't do much, if you tune it correctly then you wwon't need one

Rx-7Blazin 04-03-03 11:04 PM

im saying that beacuse wouldnt it help so you know if you tuned it to rich or lean so you dont screw your engine??

dr0x 04-03-03 11:08 PM

AF gauges that run off a single or two wire generic o2 sensor shouldnt be used for tuning. They have very coarse readings. Pay the 40$/hr to get on a dyno with a wideband o2.

Rx-7Blazin 04-03-03 11:20 PM

so you think i should take it to a shop and get it tuned?? i may do that but as of now the modifications to my car are minor so i would probly waite to get that done when i get more modifications.
i have and will soon have a cat back system gutted cats intake 680cc injectors fiero fan removed ac power stearing and air pump

Their is no point in having a S-AFC if you aren't going to dyno tune it.

Detriuch 04-03-03 11:48 PM

whats up with the 680 injectors on that na?

rotary>piston 04-04-03 12:06 AM

Yeah, you'll never, ever, ever, ever, ever need that much fuel on a stock port N/A.
How much extra hp can you push out of an N/A by just leaning out the mixture?

Rx-7Blazin 04-04-03 08:24 AM

well it was kinda a package deal $200 for 680cc injectors and a s-afc. what do you mean get more hp out of leaning out the mixture??? i never sayd that

JerryLH3 04-04-03 08:36 AM

The stock ECU richens fuel mixtures a little too much for the N/A. Most people who have an N/A and get an S-AFC lean the mixture. This results in better economy and due to proper mixtures, more power. I've heard leaning out the mix can give approx 8-10 hp.

nonameo 04-04-03 09:48 AM

blazin, you want to sell the injectors since you don't really need them :D

Rx-7Blazin 04-04-03 03:00 PM

i will probly keep the injectors cuz im planning on alot more mods
