1990 GXL N/A to turbo??

Hello there club, so I have a 1990 GXL model that's naturally aspirated. I am getting ready to rebuild the engine. But I want to add a single turbo. So what all does this require as far as parts. What all do I need to install before I install the turbo. And how much boost do you think I would be able to run? I do t want to do a full Tll conversion. I just want to boost what I already have the most simplest way possible. And will I be able to run a front mount intercooler, or will I have to run a top mount?

Lets see, you'll need a bigger fuel pump, bigger gauge wire going to the fuel pump, bigger injectors, a different intake assembly, a different exhaust system, you'll need to drill and tap the front cover and rear iron for the oil feed, a new engine wire harness to go along with your new standalone ecu, and all your piping for your intercooler whether you do a vmount, too mount, or front mount, oh, and a tune for your new ecu at your nearest tuner

All in all to do it right factor your car to be out about a year or more, and to have about 6K ish cash (or more) to rebuild and turbo the engine the RIGHT way

Aka, buy a car thats already turbo'd

Save yourself the trouble and sell it and buy a TII.

can't we just make a sticky thread so we don't have to see a few of these threads every week?

that's true, or the search function, because this is the most asked question of all time. yet the answers are always the same.

'if you gotta ask, don't bother. sell it and buy a turbo car.'

one could read Aaron's writeups and follow that process, then at the end of it all look at the car and how much time and money spent and wonder why in the holy **** they bothered. if it's a matter of wanting an expensive hobby to waste time and money on, sure have at it. if it's a matter of not finding a turbo RX7, you're probably not looking hard enough or opening your wallet wide enough, because if you think it's expensive buying a turbo RX7 then you would be wrong in thinking you could build one for less from a lesser car. and it's no offense to aaron, but he likes to tinker where not everyone has the tools, patience, scrap or spare parts lying around to make it happen without spending a small fortune on everything.
