13b-rew tt transmission on 2ng gen 13b

What do I need to isntall a 13b-rew transmission on my 2nd gen rx7 motor? Can I use the same clutch setup and starter?

K-Tune 01-14-08 05:50 PM

to install it on the motor? you dont need anything, bellhousing bolts pattern is the same. turbo clutch and flywheel should be the same.

now..the answer to the rest of your questions is gonna hurt your feelings. :]

you will need lots of money. It is a pulling motion, instead of a pushing one, for the clutch fork.

K-Tune 01-14-08 06:36 PM

oh yep, sorry..FD is pulltype clutch.

Sell it and buy a 2nd gen turbo tranny.

They are identical in strength (but I'm thinking the syncro's on the 3rd gen tranny might have been updated).

:uh: Covered so many times I believe it's been stickied and in the faq

The tranny will bolt up to the engine - that's it
The clutch will not work
I believe the shifter is in the wrong place
what are you going to do about a driveshaft
what about tranny mounts
what about a speedo?
most importantly - WHY?!?!?!?!?! The gear ratios are the same between the S5/6 trannies so there is no advantage there. The gase in the TII is argueably stronger. The overdrive syncro is definately stronger in the TII box. An FD trans in an FC is a total and complete waste of time and effort.

Now the FE box :naughty:
