13B-RE Wiring Harness Conversion Diagram?

i'm in the last stage of planning my 13B-RE coversion and wanted to know if anyone has a set diagram to wire the 13B-RE wiring harness to the stock s4 t2 ecu wiring harness?

I suggest you learn to read wiring diagrams....... www.iluvmyrx7.com has the S4 and S5 wiring diagrams along with the FD wiring diagrams.....you must figure out what each wire IS in the FD and then find the SAME wires in the S4 diagram..........in other words: black/green wire in FD= AFM (this is an example not an actual wire!) then look in the S4 wiring diagram and find the AFM and solder the wire into the right slot.

IF I WERE YOU: I'd find an FD ECU so you do not have to do the engine wiring (more likely to fuck up an NEVER TURN ON) and you only have to do the body ELECTRICAL WIRING.

will the FD/13B-RE ecu work/fit seemlessly into the 10th ae harness? any issues about the tranny function? link doesn't work btw:(.

HAHAHAHAHA my bad bro.....i could have sworn you said 13B-REW.....I apologize....it was my mistake.............if you can get a COSMO ECU and do what I said above it will all apply......again....I apologize for my mistake.

WhoDiddy6 07-28-05 06:53 PM

sooo, use the cosmo ecu with my harness and that's it?

Madrx7racer 07-28-05 07:01 PM

will reply tomorrow morning......it's complicated......on my way out.......sorry.

You can't use the stock Cosmo ECU.

You can run the 13B-RE off of the stock TII ECU. Certainly seen it done before. There is some parts swapping involved (need to go to TII front cover for the CAS, for example) but it's certainly doable. It is NOT a direct bolt on, and seriously, the TII ECU is so far behind the times that there's almost no point in doing this unless you're just trying to save money.

Madrx7racer 07-29-05 12:36 PM

my idea was to get the cosmo ECU so his engine harness fits( less likely to wire something wrong and the engine never turns on.....) ...........then just rewire the body electrical but that would require the cosmo body harness too( i'm sure you do not have one and i'm not sure about their availability.)....Ted.....does that make any sense?

WhoDiddy6 07-29-05 12:47 PM

i'm doing it this way to get it on the road, i have this great car and the life was sucked out of it. so eventually i will be using either haltech or microtech, but for mean while i'm just gonna get the 13B-RE swapped with 13B-RE/20B mounts, custom piped intercooler, and have a stock fd/re downpipe fitted to my stock exhaust. later down the road i will redo the exhaust and goto haltech or microtech. and even further down the road, i'll worry about the turbo setup.

thanx,

Still not going to work...unless you end up using the stock Cosmo auto trans???
The stock Cosmo ECU is going to barf due to not "seeing" the auto trans.
Unless you can simulate the auto trans being connected (I've never seen or heard of this being done.), the stock Cosmo ECU is going to be stuck in limp-home mode.

n/m going with the microtech LT8! anyone know where i can get one for less than $999?

WhoDiddy6 08-12-05 09:43 PM

so when ordering the lt8s, do tell them the base map for the 13b-re? will they have the maps for that?

drivegrp 08-12-05 10:06 PM

MT base maps for the 13BT will work with 13B-RE. I personally would not mess with the stock wiring.

I'm currently using the LTX8 and no issues.

Good luck.

There are several JC Cosmos running around in NZ with 5-spd swaps, including one a friend of mine did himself. I don't know the exact details, but apparently tricking the ECU into believing the auto was still there wasn't too hard.

don't they include a new wiring harness?

Kingofl337 08-13-05 08:56 AM

Buy a megasquirt you can get the whole setup for less then $450.00

Aaron Cake 08-13-05 10:42 AM

I wouldn't suggest this particular owner go with the Megasquirt...

Yes, the Microtech includes a new wiring harness which must be wired up to the stock sensors. Remember that the base map is only there to get the engine running. It is CRAZY rich, and MUST be tuned to be useful at all.
