10th aniversary question

Ok I have a white 88 TII with all black interior cloth black seats etc. I remember seeing somewhere that the 10 aniversaries are the only S4's with black interior right? Then someone else told me all 10 aniversaries had leather interior. So I am completely confused lol. So if it is a white 88 TII with black cloth interior it can still be a 10 aniversary right? Lol stupid question I know but I just was wondering.

Umm, yes, the seats were likely re-covered or swapped from a different FC, or even a diffrerent car altogether. If your car is truly a 10th AE, then it should have the little badges on the fenders, the imprint on the center of the steering wheel, and white painted trim/ tail light surrounds.

Post some pics if you can. (photobucket.com)

Well the fenders were replaced but I was told from the owner that owned the car before the owner I got the car from that the old fenders had the 10th aniversary badges and he would give them to me because he still has them. Also it has S5 tailights on it, I didnt notice anything on the steering wheel, and the seasts are most definitely black fc seats.

are the rims painted white too?

The glass on 10th AE cars are also tinted a bronze color.

The car has dark black tint so I cant tell about the tint, and it doesnt have factory rims so I dunno???

vin # is the easiest way to tell. the key (unless THATS aftermarket too) is also a special type with 10th ae symble.
my 10th ae has cloth seats, but they are from my 91 gxl, and are inpectable condition. i replaced them myself.
also if you have another rx-7 to compare it to, check the shift knob and shift boot, should not have a clear plastic peice rather a solid knob with the "h" ingraved.

sorry bout the underlines and bolds, i just found out cntl+u and ctrl+b are frickin sweet.

It should also have front headlight washers.

FCTIIMike 02-10-08 05:04 PM

Well the car doesnt have the stock shift boot and has a white greddy shift knob, and the headlight plastics are missing and yes it has an aftermarket key lmao. How can you tell by the vin because at this point I think that is my only hope.

So pretty much it had EVERYTHING that identified it as a 10th AE swapped or replaced? Damn... this is turning out to be fishy as hell, yo!

racerlinkfc 02-11-08 12:06 AM

seems real fishy to me why would you wan to mess with such a clean interior thats the one thing i loved about the 10th ae was the nice black interior. but check the vin that would be the only way
