0v at starter relay help?
 

ok, like title says, I'm seeing 0v at the starter relay. I'm tired and can't think of what can be causing this. Btw its a new car I picked up, just swaped engines, so everything, so I thought, would just work. Anyways if anyone can help please do.

I get 12.6v at the wire running straight from the bat. but when I crank I get 0v from the black wire running to the solenoid atop the starter. Any help is appreciated.

ok I just jumpered the black wire from the relay straight to the battery. All I got was click click. The starter never turned over. I'm pretty sure my starter is fubar, just want to be sure. Any input is welcome.

your anti theft module could be fubared. the black and red wire. wallow it, and jumper the connection at the plugs youll find.

alright, don't you mean a black/green wire? I checked the fsm and there is a relay between ignition and the starter relay, but the wires going to it are black/green.

Anyway. I am getting 12v on the black/white wire coming out of the ignition. That switches to the black/green wire after going through a 10a fuse, according to the fsm. well like I said, I get 12v at the black/white wire, but 0v at the black/green wire going into the relay. I can't find anything wrong though. I'm just about ready to run my own wires and relay and bypass all this bs.

Well if ya have any ideas shoot, cause I've got none at this point.

do you have voltage coming out of the interlock switch? FSM page 50-18, the wiring diagram section

Re-read the diagram. The wire to the starter is a Black/Red wire coming from the ignition harness (look at the wire coming from the "S" line at the top, not the line coming from the "1"), which goes to the clutch interlock switch under the dash. Meter the black/red first with the key in the start position (have an assistant turn the key). Then trace it to the interlock switch and make sure juice is coming out of it on the black/green wire you were speaking of.

You may have a bad ignition switch.

no. the relay is actually on teh starter, and the black and red wire goes to it.

stupid question..are you Pushing the clutch pedal IN when Testing for 12 volts at the Solenoid?..if not then it will show ZERO Volts,as the Clutch has a Safety switch that prevents you from starting it In Gear.,,get a buddy Press the Clutch in,Turn the Key to start,and get under the car and see if the Starter is getting 12 volts in the Keyed Start Position AT the Solenoid.
