[lights] difference eu and us spec

hey guys,

I have a few questions about lights on a us spec rx7 fc.

I have a eu spec S5 turbo my self. Front combination lights has an 5W bulb, and a 21W bulb as a blinker. Reflector is 3/4 orange and 1/4 with. On the side of the car there is a round shaped side blinker between the front wheel and the door. And our tail lights are "short", have one fog light and one reverse lights.

What i would like to know is this. The tail lights on a us spec car are wider ( click, have 2 reverse lights. But do they also have fog lights next to them or is that a reflector (licence plate side).

Question about the front combination lamps. I have seen them orange. But on our eu spec lights the 5w bulb and 21w bulb are seperated with some kind of shield. Are those orange combination lights also seperated behind the glass? What kind of bulb is used? If someone has a picture for me, that would even better.

Last question is about the lights on the side of the car. I mean those on this (click) picture. Are these side blinkers, side markers or both? 5W bulb? I know there is also a version with flat side lights, but i expect those to be only side markers and no blinkers.

I hope u guys can tell me a thing or 2 about it, i might want to buy them for my eu spec car.

Thanks

The side lights, are parking lamps. They do not serve a turn signals.

The front (orange-series 4, clear-s5) serve as turn signals. Never opened mine up yet, but I thought there was only one bulb in them.

U.S. Spec tail lights have NO fog lights. Just 2 reverse and reflectors. brake and turn signals.

I would love to see pictures of said tail lights with the fog lamp in them. Sounds different.

I've only seen the "bubble lens" side markers on JDM cars and flat style on US cars .

The front markers have a similar reflector, but covers the entire opening and the plastic for the 5W bulb isn't cut/drilled out. We use a single 1157 (27W, orange/amber) light for each side.

I'm not aware of another stock side marker between the wheel and door, it might be aftermarket.

Thanks for the reply's

howru, in your posted link are also pic's of my S5, so who is intrested, that is an EU spec car.

What I have in mind right now for the front, dont know when it will happen tough, is either an oranger or clear combination light glass. When the lights are tuned on the whole lamp should be illuminated instaid of only 1/4th of the lamp (if u check my car on howru's link, u can see that one part is white and one part orange. Only the white side is illuminated).

howru, does your 27w lamp light up when u turn on the lights or does it only blink?

Side markers: in the link of howru above, u can see the round blinkers between wheel and door of my car.

I am planning to replace the fenders in a while, again i am not shure when, and in combination with that, i want to remove that lamp and replace it with the "bubbel" version (didnt knew it was jdm version) and should work as a side turn signal.

Things like this can be done, but i would like to do it original so far as possible and i am confused due different pic's i have seen. I have seen them being illuminated but i am not sure if they also work as turn signal lights.

When its not original i will need to make it my self :)

The bulb works for both turn signals and parking lights, it just lights up brighter when the turn signal is used.

You'll have to modify your wiring for the US lights. We have a single 3-pin plug instead of 2 2-pin plugs.

Ok thank you, then i only need to find a wireing diagram for the us model.

Right now i have workshop manuals for the eu model
