=( still overheating....

well today i got my radiator cleaned and fished out nothing still.....i don't know what to do now i put a brand new fan clutch on there, i got a brand new oem mazda thermostat, i got some new thermostat housing, and the water pump is still good because water flows when i rev engine when warmed up.

i've tested for coolant seals but my car doesn't smell like it's burning coolant, i've started my car up on cold and took out the egi fuse....nothing

Is your cooling system holding pressure properly?

Akabane 04-24-04 09:34 PM

heh its holding a little too much pressure my upper hose is starting to bulge up

I don't like the sound of that....
Have u done the geyser test?

Akabane 04-24-04 09:40 PM

yup it doesn't shoot it out

Akabane 04-24-04 09:43 PM

my engine isn't leaking coolant either
theres so much pressure building up that air is being pushed out of my overflow bottle and starts hissing

Akabane 04-24-04 10:34 PM

just noticed i don't even see a weep hole from my water pump it looks like it was picked off a junkyard

Akabane 04-24-04 10:36 PM

nm it's hidden under the pulley.....

SonicRaT 04-24-04 10:50 PM

When does it push coolant out the overflow? Instantly? And also, you should NOT have enough pressure to bulge the upper radiator hose.

Akabane 04-24-04 10:55 PM

it pushs water out only when its really hot like 3/4 of the way.

SonicRaT 04-24-04 11:08 PM

Well that's simply because it's boiling then, nothing big then. Replace your radiator caps, run the car with no cap for a couple of minutes to get all the air out, top it off, go buy a coolant pressure tester from the local auto parts store, make sure it can hold at least 11psi without bleeding off. If that turns out good, make sure all your hoses are ran properly.

well,if your rad is clogged, then nothing you do to the rest of the system wil help at all. get a junkyard rad.its only like 40 bucks

Akabane 04-24-04 11:27 PM

well i had it rodded out, but i was feeling the water pump and it seems like theres nothing but air in there with some water that doesn't feel like it's flowing just feels like it's boiling, the current is suppose to be strong but this shit is weak i guess i need a water pump....

Akabane 04-24-04 11:32 PM

i mean from the upper radiator hose seems like it's not flowing
