*Mint Turbo II* Clutch Pedal Sticks To The Floor Sometimes, Any Ideas Why?
 

Hi everyone, I own a '90 Turbo II that is in great condition with only 59K on it, but i am experiencing some problems with the clutch. I am assuming that it is because i'm still using the original clutch that is now 16 years old and since the car was sitting for some time is also a reason why it might need to be changed. Or can this be cause by something else?

The car drives completely fine, switching between gears and all. The only time it happens is when i'm clutched in with the car in gear and i keep the pedal depressed for more than 10 secs, also happens when i'm half clutching for reversing.

Any help and comments would be greatly appreciated.

More than likely it's the clutch master or slave cylinder. Change those and while you're there replace the stock clutch fluid line with a stainless steel line.

Yeah, I had the same problem in my car, I had a leaking clutch slave and master cylinder, check them out get some rebuild kits and a SS line and be done with it.

I had a good friend of mine who owned a couple 7's give me that idea as well. I just don't understand how I could have that problem when the car has barely been driven? and I know for sure that it isn't leaking. So no chance that it is the clutch itself cause i must say it does grab like it still has alot of life in it.

agreed, same problem.. eventually after a few weeks it just gave up and I couldent get it in gear, so i swapped it out with another clutch master cylinder and it's been perfect ever since.

The seals in that are old, they age, doesn't really matter if it has been driven or not.

yep...same thing happened to me with a 90 na I had...replaced master and slave cylinders...never hapened again.

all the above and I wouldnt drive in any rushour traffic or anything like that, when your car stops moving its going to make alot of people mad (happened to me mutliple times)

ok it is your clutch master cylinder...you just need to replace it..the seal in it is going out and eventually if not allready will be leaking inside the car all over the carpet..it happened to me and i just went and bout a new one..then like stated before replace all the lines with stainless steel..trust me you don't want to replace the carpet either..but after you replace it check undernieth the carpet because it might have started to leak allready and is under the carpet...

I replaced my slave cylinder one year and a year later replaced the clutch master and the Rubber clutch line with stainless steel line, the rubber line was riped too..

Also if the fluid is dark "dirty", one of them is wering out. so just replace all 4 items...

just because it hasn't been driven alot doesn't mean it stops time on the wear of components.

Thanks to everyone for all their help and comments! It hasn't started leaking yet so i'm going to get on that right away.
