WTH tiny red bugs

So today i was outside looking at my car, and i found the tires crawling with these tiny red bugs. I mean tiny like pinhead sized bugs i was wondering if anyone knew what they were.

lonetlan 05-05-09 04:51 PM

honda?

VashDaStampede 05-05-09 04:54 PM

Nope, it was on the FC.

Ticks? :dunno: If they were on the tires, do a burnout and kill those little fuckers.

VashDaStampede 05-05-09 04:58 PM

i would do that, but the problem is that they're on the sides of the tires. if i can get a pic later i'll put it up.

those little things are called rotary ants. they were a dealer option in CA which only came on certain rx-7 models and are very rare. i would sell them on ebay.

lonetlan 05-05-09 05:07 PM

mites or ticks:dunno:

RedDragon777 05-05-09 05:42 PM

I am guessing ticks but you could have parked on an ant hill and they are just pissed off.

Sounds like spider mites. They're pretty common. If you do a google search on spider mites, you'll find a bunch of advice on how to get rid of them. One is to spray them with a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water.

Crabs, maybe :dunno:

NJGreenBudd 05-05-09 06:44 PM

First of all this is in the wrong section, this is not a technical question or second gen specific by any means.

Second, what you are describing are almost certainly "red clover mites" . They are very common and they are completely harmless.

Third, any one who doesn't know what a "tick" looks like should do themselves a favor and google "tick" and learn what they look like.

RotaryRocket88 05-05-09 11:05 PM

It could be a technical question if they're actually tiny red gremlins messing with his FC. Any nuts and bolts missing? :D

clokker 05-05-09 11:19 PM

Are they metric?

i'm willing to bet they are Chiggers for real. look them up my parts car is covered with them. and they can bite and give you little bumps.

VashDaStampede 05-06-09 10:51 AM

thanks guys. i was looking them up on google and im pretty sure they're either red spider mites or red clover mites. also, sorry if this was in the wrong section how do i move it? last but not least, if they are rotary ants how much do you think i could get for them on ebay? haha

dawicka2 05-06-09 11:05 AM

^^^^ Unfortunately not very much. Rotary ants were recalled because they were boring holes into peoples skin and having babies in there.

Maybe a collector might want them though.

Can i get jdm rotary ants?

Are they different than the usdm ones?

VashDaStampede 05-06-09 11:59 AM

^^ interesting, i guess i'll just have to wait until they're in demand again. maybe if you really hate someone you could give them some for free, you know "kuz you're nice"

VashDaStampede 05-06-09 12:00 PM

i'm not sure i'll go run some tests in my lab to make sure.

the only way his car could get those is if it had some sex with a slutty 7. ya know? one thats been around

NJGreenBudd 05-06-09 10:16 PM

was your 7 anywhere near a Honda lately? They carry all sorts of nasty diseases and parasites, could have gotten crabs from an infested civic.

VashDaStampede 05-07-09 01:33 AM

^^^^ i'll definately look into not parking near infested civics hahaha

NCross 05-12-09 09:54 PM
