Great Video!

rotary_bünta 06-14-11 03:46 PM

man that video had to have been made in the early 90s. i always thought working on cars would be more fun in japan. they just seem to make every task a joke of some kind.

p.s.

that dude with the porno stash has to the most Mexican looking Japanese guy i have ever seen.

MaczPayne 06-15-11 01:50 AM

He's Asami Amemiya, in case you didn't know :)

That's the Fc 2000 I think it was built in 2001 (not sure) they wanted a modern fc so they built that. For some reason all the films look ten years older than what they should be.

I'm also guessing that you don't know who Amemiya is too, the guy that looks Mexican with the porno mustach. He's the biggest rotary tunner ever. God of rotary tunning I think is a nickname for him, besides Ama-san. If you ever seen JGTC whitch is now Super GT the only rx7 in the race is his 300HP class.

_Mac_ 06-15-11 12:39 PM

That was entertaining even though I don't know half of the things that were going on. Thanks for sharing though.

yea i have heard of him. when i got a my 7 i did some research and what not while learning about the car and its history. His name came up a few times. just didnt know what the dude looked like.

yea that film looks way olde than 2001, but then again maybe my eyes are just spoiled from the HD we have now. i dont think i can ever go back to SD.

its a cool vid tho. :icon_tup:

Option video vol. 92. Filmed in '01. Bad quality.

Hypertek 06-15-11 06:42 PM

the actual vhs tapes from that era look pretty good picture wise, or at least I thought when i bought tapes around 02 and played them on tv compared to dvds..

I think the general Japanese attitude in videos and media is to be comical , have fun with it and be uplifting.

Videos are pretty cool though, It amazes me how they have funds for those tapes and to be mostly locally exclusive to just japan at the time. Always thought it would be cool for them to work out a deal to broadcast those shows over here in the US, might educate the mass of fwd rice tuners. lol

^^ agreed

Gregory Casimir 06-19-11 06:09 PM

AaronJ 06-24-11 12:50 PM

is he using 20b irons on this engine?

stevensimon 06-24-11 01:06 PM

^^

no. they were just showing the difference. (13b,20b)RE ports are gigantic when put next to 13bt or rew ports

yet they don't make that much more power, surprising what angles do for airflow versus a huge gaping hole.

Thanks for the link. Pretty cool video!
