It wasn't to hard to make the cluster. All I used was a dremel, drill, hole saw, and a thin sheet of aluminum.

I don't have any pics of the build up. But here's a rough MSpaint example of what I did, borrowing one of Wanked_FC's pics.

All you do is take the gauge cluster apart separate the front black half and rear white half. When everythings apart carefully pop the clear front cover plate off, not to damage the black surround.

Once you got the clear cover off, take a dremel and carefully trim the face plate (circled in red) off the surround. Be careful not to cut into the surround itself.

The Green outline is an example of the shape I trimmed the aluminum sheet to mount the gauges to. The hole saw was used to cut the holes necessary for the gauges.

For the rear white backing, your gonna have to trim the center section as required to clear the gauges. Careful not to cut into the surround on this also.

Pretty much all you do now is just sandwich the aluminum plate that your gauges are mounted on, inbetween the front and rear surrounds. After its sandwiched you should have a couple of screw points available for you to hold everything together until you can finally mount this badboy into the dash securely.






I don't think you'd want to see my interior. Unless you have a thing for gutted interiors, lol.

Is it me or am i making it harder than it really is in my head? You just carved a new cluster"bracket" and bought your aftermarket gauges of choice and just wired em up and mounted them in your instrument cluster?

I wish they would sell a tach with a small digital readout for speed to eliminate another gauge.

are your gauges behind the original plexi panel or out in the open?
I want to do a custom gauge lay out but with a large tach front and center, thinking of no speedo, just going off GPS speed and engine speed, and all of it behind the stock plexi shield

Does that mean u actually have too cut the face that have the holes for the gauges out and then trim/flatten/polish the leftovers from the cut-away inside,Or is the surrounding and the face teo separate pieces?

I only enjoy FISH tacos but to each their own.

Here is my set up. No extra tacho needed! My PFC Commander is mounted on top of my driver door vent. No pics but you have got to love cell phone holders. :)

Its a swapped car, I'm sure it a lot of it will probably can still be made to work with a stock motor. I've had all the random stuff available to me, and all I spent money on were just the gauges. Which set me back around $550, if I remember correctly.

I think its just you, I'm sure once you have everything in front of you it will be easier to see what I was getting at.

They're out in the open. I did that because the stock plexi will have an open hole from the old trip reset, and other being that I wanted to mount the speedo trip button right next to the speedo itself on the gauge plate.

Its all one piece. But yeah just cut face with all the gauge holes out, and carefully trim the excess away.

I have seen speedos with remote reset buttons, this way you can mount them behind a panel.

there is always something that keeps me from going with a set of gauges, no boost gauge, or not the right style sweep- very frustrating!

HAHA tell me about it! Neither can i, either its the wrong colour series or wrong metric system or missing a few gauges that i need, im basically looking for a series that has the whole shebang, Like Tacho/Speedo/Fuel lvl/Oil Press and Temp/Water Temp and Turbo...maybe even voltage...
