Tail Light Swap! **Pictures**
 

Hey guys, i went to the wreckers to get a new starter for my car and found the tail lights that iv been wanting to swap into my car since i got it! They only charged me 50 dollars for both tail lights!! :D Their in great condition and the swap took under an hour.

Let me know what you think. The old tail lights were painted by the previous owner to match the car but i felt that they were just boring and plain. I think the new ones break up the colour a bit and i LOVE the circle lights :D

Love S5 tails... don't know if I'm feeling the wing. Maybe it's just the pics... idk

The wing is a little too much lol, It was all the previous owners doing. It has started to grow on me tho :P You dont ever see these cars in my area so everyone is always looking lol.

Lol. Yeah I guess I hear ya. I think if the wing was just a little shorter in height then I'd be all for it. I love the led's on in the wing.

and if you drop it a little more on those wheels.. it'd be sick!

shaved trim ftw, I'm in the process of doing it to my TII. the Sarona/Erebuni side skirts and rear bumper are my favorites, looking pretty good.

For some reason I like my trim... I don't know why.. lol

Lights look good, the rest as long as you like it then that's what matters.

Needs some killer stance to make the shaved look kind of work...

The wing is structural, he needs it to keep the rear bumper on..... without it he has nothing to hook bungee cords to!

Lol! thats the day i bought the car. The previous owner was using the cords so that side of the bumper wasnt hanging. I secured the bumper by self tho without those ghetto cords so i can take it for quick runs around the block lol. Im located in burlington ontario

i think better offset wheels and a kit with the trim molded i think would look better. the trim then no trim side from the front just looks... eh, just doesnt flow lol

so in other words a totally different look?

I don't want to butt in but... I will. You took two pictures, one of before and one of after, of a subject and process that has been covered hundreds of times. To me, it looks like you're just trying to show off your car that you bought in the almost exact same shape. Just make a "Look at the pictures of my bought, not built, car," and stop trying to hide behind the "Tail light swap ***two pictures***" thread title.

In my honest opinion, I think the car needs quite a bit of work to look good. But replacing the tails is a good start. So kudos to you.

Im not trying to show off my car. There is nothing to show off. I was super happy about getting rid of the old shitty tail lights and finding s5's for the price/condition they were in. If i was trying to show off the car i would have claimed the work done to it myself. The car is no where near nice. It needs more body work than you know. The car is pretty much stock except for the exterior. Its what i could afford at the time and im happy with it. Last time i checked, "pictures" meant more than one. There is more than one. Hence the title of the thread. Sorry you guys feel that way and have bad feed back towards me. I thought this forum was for posting progress and discussing things about our cars? Correct me if im wrong?

swapping taillights does not deserve a thread, if it was something unique then yeah thread worthy. that's what renton and gordinirx7 are trying tell you. they are not trying to offend you and yes this is a place to discuss things.

Good start, Take the wing off, get a chizel and take all the bondo out of the molding strip, spend a few weeks re-working the body line, put some nice moldings back on, get a lip or at least scrape all the over spray off the thing thats on there. Lower it more. these are all things that can be done with just a couple bucks and some labor.

good move on the taillights, the paint is like the honda paints no?

Im moving soon and getting a bigger garage. Once that happens the rx7 will be the project car instead of the DD and project car haha. Then ill beable to do stuff like that :) but thanks man

Unless you like the wing and molded in look or got the car for a killer deal, you probably could have started off with buying a different/stock car and been better off to your project goals.

That must be your first car, I didn't know people still bought ugly shit! I'm not being mean, just helpful, murder that shit out and make it a missile car that's the best thing you can do.

To be honest man take you time mod the car you want & be happy!

Like Dad said. Make the car how you want. Don't listen to other peoples criticism. If you want to spend a fortune on stickers and such, do it.

Because in the end, you are happy with the car, even if no one else is.
