Sway bar to Endlink Problem.
i can't get the links connected to the swaybar on my vert. RB endlinks that have been connected for years, took them off a while back, now this is what it looks like

Are the BRACKETS on the A-arm were the Endlink bolts to different coupe/verts? i wouldnt think they would but crazyer thinks happen:crzyeye: |
I know S4 and S5 endlinks are different...

This is all s4 stuff. i have a question for you renton, i just seen some s4 A-arms on here forsale, they had a pressed in balljoint. I never seen a s4 or s5 that have pressed in balljoints. i only seen the bolt on Style. were does the press in style come from?

s4's have the replaceable ball joints. the s5 are all one piece. do the end links stand up vertical? i dont really understand the pic

The end links can stand up vertical but if you stand them up vertical they would be about 3 inches away from the sway bar. look at the picture, imagine if the bottom of the endlink was in the bracket on the A arm. Pivit the endlink so its exactly verticle. it would be a few inches away from the swaybar.

Just put a s5 swaybar in my s4 vert, and it angles. Both the s4 and s5 swaybars had that angle though...
Verts have the exact same suspension as the Turbo II's(besides for springs). Also, just to add a bit more info, the s4 and s5 links are different(s5=plastic) but they look the same dimension wise iirc... |
Well if they angle then it will blow out the center of the Link. the hole will get ovaled and sloppy. i already messed one up just trying to put a bolt in it and tightn it. THey used to sit perfectly flush.

Yeah, lift the car up, get under it, and take multiple pics, zooming as far out as possible.

In these pictures The car is Approx, 21/2 foot off the ground. it is sitting on HOUSE jacks. There 30in. tall all the way collapsed and i have them a few inches from all the way collapsed. The other side is exactly the same. A little worse b/c i slide the swaybar over to the drivers a little bit. Ill get more pictures i guess lol. idk what mroe to get but ill try:scratch:

I'm pretty sure my sway bar endlinks stand up vertical, no slant to the driver / passenger axis at all.

I think the bracket for the end links is on backwards, it's the one the bolts for the ball joints go through.

have you tried jacking up the control arm before installing your sway bar? I have always done this without issues. There is usually quite a bit of tension on the sway bar with weight on wheels.
