Ruined. :(

Traveling down a road i live off of, doing the speed limit on my way to school.
About to pass through a "T" intersection when i see a 93 honda accord about to make a left turn.

sitting roughly 1-2 feet in my lane she decides to commit to the turn.

i'm traveling closer and closer wondering if shes going to haul *** to make this turn or not.

Having said that

having no time to react
throw it in second
lock up the brakes and t-bone her car

it was a completely unavoidable accident it was either her car or a line of other cars traveling the opposite direction.

It was 45-0mph in a blink of an eye.
I throw my seat belt off, pull up the ebrake, flip my fuel cut off switch and jump out of the car.

To my enjoyment i come out screaming and yelling at this lady and she ends up driving her mangled can up the street.

Flees the scene.

No more than 2 seconds later an older gentleman in a van books it up the road to catch her and waits for the police to get her.

she ended up having a suspended license and got cited for having just that but she ended up not getting cited for fleeing the scene.

i'm apologizing in advance for all of this reading

it was the cleanest 7 i've ever seen in person

no more than 3k on my motor that i waited 7 months for.
126000 miles i completely babied this car and it was my pride and joy. i've posted many pictures of it on the forum and i'm sure some will recognize it.

Although i am 16 years old this car means everything to me and it was always well kept.
I'd always wait everymorning for it to warm up. It was rarely redlined.
to be honest i never got a full throttle pull on it because of fuel cut.
it was never dirty
the interior was mint, it never went an entire week without it getting vacuumed.
I've always been on-top of oil changes, checking fluids, making sure coolant was always topped off. etc etcc

Finally the picturess.

i'll be notified within a few days to know if its completely worthless(totalled) or it is still fixable.

everything back from the quarter panels are completely untouched, the engine didnt even move, i looked under the car on the driver side and nothing looked bent, snapped, or broken from what i could see. but

it truly is horrible

The other driver is 110% at fault stated by her insurance agent and i will either get the car fixed or get a check with whatever its worth.

i've kept every single recite from this car from when the original owner had it since i've owned it so im not backing down untill i get what i want for it.

Well it does most of the talking.

Ouch that hurts man! But hopefully you'll get enough cash for another, or even get a clean shell to swap over the good stuff!

Your neck hurts. Go to the hospital now. Now go. You need that on record when you sue her and her insurance company. She needs to be tought a financial lesson for her careless disregard for other peoples lives and traffic laws.

Go now. You are still reading. The pain is unbearable and fortunately unmeasurable. Hospital.

I would say that might be a bit overkill but then I remember she tried to run away!

So i'd think you'd like to see your Dr and ask if your neck pain is a serious issue. O.o

Not overkill. He is gonna be lucky to get 4200.00 for this piece of ***** error. This is where society discurages and punishes people for taking pride and restoring older vehicles. Time and money into rx7, car destroyed through no fault of owner, rewarded with 1/3 of "value" (based on time and money put in). And oh yeah..... she tried to get away.

I can see from the east coast how much physical pain you are in.

Sorry to hear that, it looked like it was a mint TII.

My rule that i've learned quickly over the years: Other people on the road are ******* terrible drivers and should never be given the benefit of the doubt. My advice on the hospital thing: teach her a lesson. My advice on driving in the future: always expect people to do stupid ****, because 99.9999% of the time they will, and you will suffer the loss. Good luck with the insurance company.

Oh, and talk to a lawyer and see if you can sue her for driving on a suspended license, causing the accident and undue mental suffering of the loss of your pride and joy (my business law prof, cool as hell, said that this is the best thing besides medical damages that anyone can go for. hit her where it hurts. go for money AND her license for LIFE.)

Please don't take my criticism the wrong way, it's not meant to be disrespectful.

1. If you thought this was gonna happen why didn't you slow down sooner.

2. Locking brakes means you need to spend some time learning how to brake properly. I realize it's not something you think about when you're 16, I had an accident that was related to not being able to brake properly when I was 16 in my first RX-7. Comment towards first quote is similar in nature, not something you are really concerned about at 16, but after a few years on the road you realize people are absolutely retarded when it comes to driving, and make decisions based on how retarded you think the person/people in other lanes are.

Anyways, I can feel your neck pain from here as well, insurance companies are BITCHES when it comes to paying, so make sure you get everything you can, and have any kind of evidence you can. My wife was hit once before and the other person's insurance company said that she was 40% at fault so they were only going to pay 60% of the repair costs, even though the person that hit her signed a police statement saying she was 100% at fault. **** her and her insurance company as much as you possibly can.

And yes, sadly they are most likely going to total it out, so you'll have to find a clean chassis to donate the parts to.

When my FC got wrecked a little over a month ago(same reason some one failed to yeild left and turned right in front of me going 45 mph) Smashed into his side. 110% his fault. My car wasnt too bad compared to his suv(Search my thread for pics if you want) They totaled it. my poor 88 na vert. Paid us 6,500 for it after our counter offer on their 3800 offer. Bought the car back for 800 bucks and hope to get it back from the body shop by next week now =). I'd say the wreck was in a sense worth it for me, My car wasnt too bad, I got a new set of summer performance tires and some new 17 rims(better than my 15 all seasons). Got some camber adjustment for the front and rear, fixed my interior, got other misc things for it and i should still have some about 1k left if it needs anything also. Also I had "minor back injury" and got a 500 dollar check for that.

I'm pretty sure if you refuse medical attention at the scene, your chances of suing for personal injury drop. My friend rear ended someone while he was going 3 mph at a light, the person he hit screamed bloody murder about her neck, but refused medical attention at the scene. When she tried to take my friend to court, it was thrown out because she refused to go to the hospital when the accident happened. This is what happened to my friend, so I'm sure it's not a widespread thing.

Unfortunately, that car is totaled. The insurance company is going to cut you a check for what they believe it's worth, which is substantially below what you've spent on it. You have to keep on their *** about it, otherwise they'll never get around to paying.

damn I hate dumb drivers. What are you going to do about your car? I would keep the engine and everything if they are going to total it. Or hopefulyy the insurance will pay the body shop to swap everything to a shell and have it painted..
