awsome car what kind of rear fender flares are those??

BIZL 05-03-08 03:27 PM

pardon my ignorance but what is the cooler in the rear bumper?

edit: bad ass btw!

ajhehr 05-03-08 03:37 PM

the rear fenders are from Raceonusa, I hate race on usa btw. they are OK but not somthing that goes on really easy.
took me 3 days to get them CLOSE.

the rear cooler is my oil cooler.
use to have a fmic + ac and the oilcooler, it was just to much for roadracing so...
oilcooler got moved to the back and the intercooler got mounted flat, everything works VERY well now, but the ac is gone now to sence it has become more race car so....

effing GORGEOUS!

Turbo II Rotor 05-03-08 07:31 PM

Looks great but I hope you have a return pump after the oil cooler.

RX710thAE 05-03-08 09:26 PM

dude that set up is freakin' crazy! i love it!

Boosted11 05-03-08 09:30 PM

Wanna shed some light on how you got the IC setup? Its a beautiful system, must be efficient times ten and not chocking the rad.

blackedoutFC3S 05-03-08 09:45 PM

 i like... a lot

ajhehr 05-03-08 09:53 PM

ok no oil booster. i simply dont need it... I have thousands of miles on the setup and no problems.

the IC is just like a V mount only its upside down. originally It was an AC car and its so hot in houston that on the freeway with the fmic and the ac on the car would start to overheat... SO had to get rid of the FMIC. and because I had already spent alot of many on the pwr radiator, my only other option was to mount it flat underneath the front of the car... so I had to move the oil cooler... to the back of the car... That left me plenty of room to mount the IC flat and butted up against the radiator. SOOOOO i used some lexan to make a "batwing" under the front of the car now air gets forced through one or the other (it also has the added effect of making the front bodywork really rigid yet flexible). I have a lip that extends down in front of the intercooler that I run on the track to take advantage of the low pressure pocket to further ade in the cooling. there is NO loss of power from heat soak. I finally have a cooling system that suits the turbo rotary for road racing.

Turbo23 05-03-08 09:58 PM

Im diggin the rear mounted oil cooler. I think ive seen the idea before, but how are your temps, and pressure? Any pics from the underside showing where the air hits? And which cooler are you using?

Turbo23 05-03-08 10:09 PM

ah nevermind I see the pics. have you thought of running some ducting to the cooler? Maybe running a fuel cell later on would give you some room for duct work

Hypertek 05-03-08 10:14 PM

nice. What material did you make the front under diffuser out of?

Turbo II Rotor 05-03-08 10:40 PM

You really should consider one. That is a far distance to push oil and I bet you have lost a lot of flow.

ajhehr 05-03-08 10:55 PM

oil temps never go above 215
oil psi at 1200rpm ~60psi cold a little under 40psi hot.
hits 110psi at ~6300rpm? mabye less? duno hard to look 2 places at once....

air for the oil cooler comes from the high pressure pocket. in front of the rear bumper. i have the dual 1600cfm cooling fans. and there is a big low pressure pocket created by the diffuser all help. ive done some camcorder +string tests to 120mph and works great!

ajhehr 05-03-08 10:57 PM

front splitter is 3m lexan

Turbo II Rotor 05-03-08 11:15 PM

Psi is relative to flow?
