Plasti dipped my RX7-Tsumi

I'm a fan of Plastidip in general but not sure about all the add-on effects coats.
Be interesting to see how it holds up. How difficult did you find the process and how much prep/masking did you do? |
nice man, hows that high gloss spray? seen the DYC videos and sounds like to get the "wet without getting runs" takes some skill. been wondering how the new high gloss will look on an fc, I want to do the balloon white pearlizer with the new high gloss top coat.

i own a trailblazer ss and on the forums over there this shit is everywhere . ive done my rear valance on it and done multiple sets of wheels . just got to make sure the end results are thick or its a bitch to peel of when you try to remove .

Prep was the hardest part if the process. I going to add a couple more coats of high gloss to give it some more shine.
Here is some pics with it dry and I well take more when the sun is out. |

I'm a fan of PD for what it is...a low prep, easily removable, fairly durable, industrial coating. What it ain't is paint, a least not in the commonly accepted sense, so why try to pretend it is? If you want smooth and glossy, start with normal paint because that is what it is supposed to be and it can be wet sanded and buffed out to get there. I find the tarted up PD jobs look like regular paint that went horribly wrong, whereas the plain standard dip looks fine because it isn't trying to fool you. Besides, another major sell point for dip is the (relatively) low price- all this extra "effects" stuff must be bringing your cost nearly up to regular auto paint levels. |

I think mine still looks like plasti dip, but to get the peral to come out you need somesort of top coat.
