Pic Request: Mud Guards on FC's
Title is pretty self-explanitory. Just trying to get a good idea of how different mud guards ( non OEM ) look on FC's look installed. Thanks for the help.
|
Was thinking about doing custom ralliart mud flaps, should be nice
|
Someone had a pic of g35 mud guards, looked pretty good
|
|
Is that the G35 mudflaps installed on that FC ? And if so, what year model G35 ?
|
its 2008 model g35
|
The g35 mud guards on that fc looks bad. If you take your time and have the proper items and paint them the same color as your car, they will end up looking nice and flush.
Heat gun Super holding double sided tape Drill bit set. |
no doubt about that. the whole car needs to get painted. but for right now it aint to bad i think. yes it does bug me that they are different in color but for now its not to bad.
|
I snagged some mudflaps off some misc trucks in the junkyard

lol i was thinking the same thing on y no pic

The OEM mud guards look pretty decent... Painted and mounted with some proper mounting tape or adhesive, the G35 mud guards would look pretty damn good.
|
Already posted this pic once before but here it is again.
If you are looking for them they are called "G35 splash guards" I got mine new on ebay for ~60 bucks. I used a heat gun on low to fit them to the car but you could probably use a hair dryer, it doesn't take a lot heat. Two bolts on the front and 3M tape on the rest. https://i228.photobucket.com/albums/...3/DSC_3861.jpg I also really like the OEM mud guards but sets are selling for 400 bucks on ebay which is just stupid... |
Primos003: lookin good! Paint match looks perfect, how did you decide where to mount them height wise?
The FC that started it all (From Mac's build thread) http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...shOnStance.jpg |

Primos, looking very good and thanks for the info. Seems like the route mostly used is the G35 Splash guards, which personally is not a bad look at all. |
I've had that pic of Mac's car as my phones wallpaper sense he posted it last year lol.
When I mounted them, I wanted to make sure that they would not be lower then the side of the car so I think I made the bottoms a half inch higher. And the color match is ok, its a little darker if you look closely. |
Shine Auto sells some, but i've never seen them, i'm assuming RE is Amemiya style. Here's the quote from Shine's thread. "Spec-RE Rear aero mud guards. $150. Shipping is $25"
150 sounds like an awful lot, but if they look really good who knows. Anyone have pics? |

Gracias for the link Absence. IMO the G35s look cleaner than the Shine ones, mainly because of the way that they're fitted, the Shine's kinda wrap around the bumper it looks like...
|
Shine ones are for s5's. I've yet to see a G35 splash guard on an s5.
|
Anybody with oem or rally armor mud flaps?
