Also tech2 motorsports has a forum.....

Tech 2 specializes in supra swaped sevens and ALSO has a FULL SWAP KIT.

I mean, EVERYTHING you need for a turnkey install. Roughly if you do everything yourself and buy the parts through them it can be had for around $5000 bucks including engine and trans if you go with a non vvti/6 speed combo.

Also, this needs to be moved to "other engine conversions"

You're asking for details about an engine swap completely unrelated to RX-7's and rotaries so no it doesn't belong here. "Other Engine Conversions" is the section you want.

alot to rotary people seem to get very upset when someone does more then just T2 swap there FC and call it a day.

its like my volvo powered 7 biuld. i've gotten alot of people complain that i'm "ruining" the car without knowing anything about the owner or the goals of the car.

also note everyone just posting the the other engine section doesn't help we continuously have rotay guys come in to the section just to tell us to leave this forum is we are going to "ruin the soul" of the RX-7

We always give credit to those swapping rotaries into other cars but never the other way around....

When people stuff V8s or any piston engine in a RX chassis the world seems to start coming down on OP....

Plain fact is...we're car guys...not rotary guys. No matter how you look at it, its not about the motor or the vehicle, but about the simple fact that we have a hobby or career in cars and anything that has to do with them...

Anyway. Its pointless to argue with narrow-minded people so I say keep them rotors spinning and those pistons jumpin' :icon_tup:

Last time I checked, if you put any motor in any RX7, its still an RX7 chassis with different drivetrain...:scratch:

Funny.. when my buddy with a LS1 swapped FC gets aked what kind of car he drives...I've never heard him say he drives a V8, he usually says a RX7... shit he's been wrong this whole time... he drives a V8...got it.

And you can make good power with a rotary so why swap? You'll lose the 50/50 weight distrobution and rotary is reliable and blah blah blah....heavy ass peice of shit supra engine.....


Who cares if people have made 1000hp on stock bottom end, it's heavy and the weight distrobution of the car is ruined..... You'll never be able to tune the suspension to compensate either.

I go on youtube and you have piston fanatics talking shit to rotary guys talking about "haha, your car is running fucked up because there's smoking comming from the exhaust." or "oh, you make 500hp and run 10s but for how long? My guess is next time you run you'll shoot an apex seal into your turbo" It pisses me off either way it goes. Respect eachother. It's JUST a car.

Tada! There you have kids. An RX-7 is just a car! Just like a Gremlin, or Turbo Corvette, or a Honda Civic, or a 240sx, or a Evo, or a Subaru, or a V8 Chevette... all cars.

I wasn't trying to be discouraging. Do the 1jz or 2jz or LSx or 20b, or 12a, or electric motor, or what ever you do. Just don't do it to get praise from others about the swap. If someone doesn't like your car because it's an RX-7 with a Piston motor, they don't have to.

Personally, I like keeping it rotor powered because there aren't very many wankel powered cars around besides rx-7's. I feel V8's are redneck because where I grew up, everything was v8, 302, 350, cams and headers and 4 barrel carbs, bla bla bla. The rotary engine kind of confuses people and I like that, plus it's unique in itself.

If you do the swap, please do it well. No motor sticking out the hood. Gauge's must work. The car must drive well or better/faster than it was designed to. Don't have ass it and quit halfway, wasted effort is just that; a waste.

To each their own! I say, "rotary power!"

I guess to say the least...I was more curious about that specific swap than anything. Who knows what the future holds but I wouldn't have built my FC to RE- Amemiya specs just to stuff a 1JZ in it :icon_tdow This FC will forever be rotary...whether its a 13B, 20B, or 4 rotor...the triangles of death will continue to keep my rear wheels moving :icon_tup:

As for my other FC... well we'll just see what goodies we have laying around at the shop :icon_tup:
