Photo Shoot: adubspyder's Turbo II
Hey, was helping out Andrew (adubspyder) by taking pics of his Turbo II, and got a bit fancy. Would love to hear feedback from you photo bugs out there.
All pics were shot on a Nikon D50 in a RAW file format. Editing done in Elements on the PC, then pics were processed and saved as JPG format. I added some exposure and fill lighting to all pics (cloudy day). http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...I/DSC_0047.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...I/DSC_0044.jpg This next one I turned down the color saturation: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...SC_0042s-c.jpg An the next: color slightly down and really took OUT the clarity: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30.../DSC_0041m.jpg This next one I saturated the color. . http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30.../DSC_0036s.jpg Versus a more normal shot: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...I/DSC_0035.jpg I like these two shots: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...I/DSC_0031.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...I/DSC_0024.jpg Another more traditional shot, but watch out: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...I/DSC_0017.jpg Color vibrance out, clarity out... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30.../DSC_0018m.jpg |
is that the finishline kit?
|
yeah that kit looks nice and subtle :P
|
No, thats not the finishline kit. Thats wingswest or something. It looks similar. Finishline is all urethane and front and rear bumpers are lower half skirts with fenders pieces. They don't wrap around, they're 3 pieces.
The car looks real good though! Wheels are a bit big IMO but it looks nice! |

Pacific was the original maker of that kit many years ago. Then Wingswest started marketing the kit.

imagine if the car was lower
http://i53.tinypic.com/21l7fxx.jpg The wheels should be turned so the face is towards the camera imo, cars look ugly when they are turned away like in the original pic. |
Normally his car is a bit lower, but his struts were having issues and one was removed, causing the car to rise somewhat.
What I found interesting about this entire exercise was first, the setting. This site is the remnants of a torn down industrial building. The roof is gone. All that is left is portions of the four walls. I thought the "kill all" graffiti presented behind this all black evil looking RX-7 was kinda cool. I likes the experiments as well. The almost black&White shots came out pretty cool. The last shot where both the clarity and color were removed to present this mystical and dark image to me seemed like a cool effect. I need to try some of this stuff with my car! |
Yeah and the swastikas and stuff are cool too. Really makes the car look good!
sarcasm, bro. |
dang i didnt even realize that lol.. a bunch of K, swastikas, and what looks like the first letters of "kill" and "all"
|
Yep... the graffitti is not a political statement.
Believe it or not, this site is in a very nice neighorbood. Somehow the graffittii made it to this have-torn down building. |
fantastic raws, im not a photographer so I normally don't know how to work with camera settings. I'm only an editor of sorts and its these sort of shots that makes my job easier. Especially when doing effects. The white balance on those shots are great for editing.

Thanks! I think I am going to take my new 1st Gen over to this site for some shots. Hopefully it will make the 2011 calendar!
