New owner! 1989 RX7 Convert.

Hi all, I am a (soon to be) owner of a 1989 all Black Mazda RX7 convertible, manual. 1 owner family car....

It is my fiance's Aunts car (currently stored in Huntsville, Alabama)... Back story is: She bought the car new at the age of 21 as her 1st ever car in 1989, drove it for 10 years, then put it away, in good working order where it stayed covered in her garage for the last 19 years LOL (We were out there a couple months ago, so i briefly checked her out and on the surface all looked good but we shall see

The good news is - No one has ever showed any interest in it, so i have just been told that i (we) can have the car!! So at some point this summer i plan to transport it down from AL to sunny San Diego

Though I am no mechanic by any means, I have always wanted a fun, project car/toy to learn & work on and have for fun on occasional weekends with my lady - that also has some sentimental meaning to the family! I cannot wait to get my hands on it and bring her back to her former glory for years to come. (Plan to keep it pretty stock)

Just wanted to share this story, Pics and more info to come as i get it.....

If you guys have ANY advice/ideas and contacts for repairs/servicing/overhauling her in the San Diego area etc - Let me know !

TGIF!, Cheers. Jon

Welcome Jon! Sounds like it will be an awesome car to have. We will definitely want to see pictures of this beauty! When you get the car home you will definitely want to replace all of the fluids and filters, tires, brakes, inspect the belts and hoses, drain the gas and hope the gas has not caramelized. There's a chance that the injectors could be frozen so its best to send them out and have them cleaned and flow tested. Can't wait to see the pics!
