My recent trip to Japan

Some of you may have already seen a few these photos on Instagram if you follow me. I wanted to share these with my fellow fc guys for a little inspiration.
Back in November, I went to Japan for a two week vacation. During this trip, I had the privilege of meeting Isami Amemiya, touring his main facility in Tokyo, hanging out with Kanto rotary tuners, and seeing up close some amazing rotary machines. The first fc I'd like to introduce is from Fukushima. These shots were taken at Tsukuba circuit during the Mazda Tuning Festa, held on 11/18/2014. I had the honor of meeting Mako after years of following each other on Minkara. We were equally thrilled to meet each other on that day. His fc is simply amazing up close. A long time rotary enthusiast since the early 90's, Mako transitioned from a fc to a fd and back to a fc, the one you see here. He said fc's are more masculine, and I would have to agree. His fc is making 400ps. His home circuit is Ebisu, so TC2000 is still challenging for him. His fastest time so far is 1 minute on Tsukuba 2000 course. Very cool! Can't wait to see more. My brother and I are hoping to visit Japan sometime in 2016.

Panspeed's shop is somewhat closer to Tsukuba circuit (Saitama prefecture), it wasn't a surprise to see their demo cars and customer cars in high numbers.
Beautiful Panspeed fc with a one off flush mount headlight, integrated with their bumper. Attachment 628439 Attachment 628440 Another Panspeed customer car: http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...6852755919.jpg The presence of fc's in Japan is declining, the young enthusiast coming into the scene are more attracted to the fd body lines. Zenki fd's are cheap too, so that's another factor. 90% of these fc's were own by older gentlemen in their late 30's and older. Attachment 628441 Another rotary tuner present that day was RS ACTIVE, from Saitama as well. They recently did a 20b pp na swap on this demo fc. This was their first time out on Tsukuba circuit with this new setup. They only managed to clock a minute, still a lot of dialing to do. The sound of the engine was eargasm. Attachment 628442 Attachment 628443 Attachment 628444 Attachment 628445 Every time attack event at Tsukuba is usually littered with fd's, and they're always the top dogs. This circuit is home to many of these guys. Majority of them run under a minute lap. Attachment 628446 Car Shop Glow fd, gorgeous paint. Attachment 628447 RE Amemiya was not in attendance because they were busy wrapping up new cars for Tokyo auto salon 2015. This is the Super Greddy 3 fd, now privately owned. That first black FC is an Infini! Very nice, although I'm sure all the original Infini parts have been swapped.
