yeah I want to get it tinted to finish up the murdered out look. Just havent gotten around to it yet.

I bought my car with the window tint but did the tails myself. When i do the widebody i plan on installing quality LED bulbs in all the stock sockets so that the lights are a bit more visible in the daytime

led lights are really not any brighter, I was going to swap all my bulbs out until I found this out

^thanks for the info. You just saved me about $60. Any suggestions other than non-tinted lights?

Rob XX 7 09-09-09 08:25 PM

leave them be, depending on how you tinted your lights they are still plenty visable at night.

jake1191 09-10-09 06:50 AM

Yes they are pretty visible at night. I left the 3rd brake light untinted too so at least that can be seen during the day. Really makes me love my S4 tails at night with them tinted. It makes them have an aggressive look

I used niteshades on my tails, didnt really come out too bad, but it could be better. Cant wait to see your car done up with a widebody

jake1191 09-10-09 07:27 AM

Same here VHT Nightshades to be exact.

EvilWankel 09-10-09 07:40 AM

ah, I thought you really used tint. Did you put clear and all that jazz? I did, but when I sanded then used rubbing compound it got kinda messed up. I'll have to wetsand again.

the nice thing about s4 tails is you can shade them from behind with the VHT.

I do a nice resto/tint on S4s, which includes resoration of the housings, not just a polish like some people do, epoxy/primer/paint is the only way to restore the crackly s4 housings.

Nope no clear just a good dustless place to spray it and taped it all off and such. 3 coats and that was all. Didnt sand it or anything just reinstalled and they look awesome.
