these are obioulsy out of japan. the tail lights are clear/black the plastic isnt any color. they are just clear and smoked.....

i really really dont want to just paint my tail lights black on top of red plastic. i want something thats clear.... does any one know where i can find these?

93rx74lyfe 09-05-08 08:31 PM

Oh..my..god....so much.....RICE!

dean23 09-05-08 08:41 PM

1, i dont see anything ricey about that car at all. it all fits together nicely on the car and every bit seems functional. the wing might be a little much, but atleast it matches.
and 2, your post was COMPLETELY worthless. i just hope you dont have 639 more posts like this one.

and fc3s chick, have you looked into the diy possibility? it might be a bit easier and for damn sure less expensive.

i like the paint but discard the decoration. hehe

fc3schick87 09-05-08 09:31 PM

ok i dont care if the car is rice. its done well and those pieces are expencive on it. wing is high. but who cares. who knows if this is a track car or how much this fc is making. who gives a fuck about the spoiler. i want to know about the stupid tail lights :) :) :)
and idk about DIY..... it would consist of . well shit.. cutting and making my own pieces to replace the plastic that is red and orange....

does any one know if thats posible?

I guess the stickers, blue dash, tv's, big chrome rims and a wing on a vert are all functional.

fcforlife 09-05-08 09:49 PM

it looks like someone took off the color part of it and just glued on the diffusers. that seems simple but as i think if you have clear tail lights you fail at life.

RETed 09-05-08 10:40 PM

No, they are NOT made in Japan, although the car is clearly from Japan.
*sigh*

Someone just took flourescent light fixture plastic and remove the colored lenses...

-Ted

fc3schick87 09-05-08 11:01 PM

but on s5 tail lights . the color plastic IS the outside plastic... isnt it? or is it like the FB where you can remove the color part from the inside...
edit:
ted. but how could they make that lovely curve. uhg. prob heated them up and laid them over something. damn it... i didnt want that to be the answer. they are so pretty, at least they would be perfect for my aplication. and color scheme

shika805 09-05-08 11:32 PM

either way these headlights are custom, its gonna be hard to find a write up on how to do this... my suggestion if you really want to do this, i say hit up the junk yard and look for some beat up rx7 tails... mess with that... See what you can do with it. If its successful place a build up thread and show up all the other people that talk smack.

I think the plastic tails on the Sec Gen is colored all the way through, so you might need to make your own mold for it. In my opinion, its a little too much work for me, and personally not feeling the look of it...

rxdrift7 09-05-08 11:51 PM

s5 Tails have an outer colored piece and an inner clear diffuser. I agree with shika if you like it, try it with some junkyard tails to see if its feasible.

IMO modernized s5 tails would look much better, I love mine. But it would be neat to see some new ideas.

ya i agree . but my color scheme is going to be black and silver/blue/silver flop. dont worry. its a mild color haha!
but yeah. red would clash to much and i dont want to just BLACK out the silly tail lights. thats so.... overplayed.

i'll update this site if i do this. but honestly. i hate cutting threw plastic. expecialy 20 year old plastic....

i'll continue waiting for some one to reply with information about this fc

Hypertek 09-06-08 02:38 AM

yah it really looks like they just took the lense apart, and cut out the lense because there is no line going accross them, painted the remains and sealed it up.. Probably looks funky up close.

CWestFD3S 09-06-08 04:01 AM

They were made back in the mid to late 90's by a company, I think their name started with active, I'd have to look through my old options. I think there is a company called crystal corporation that might still make them but trying to find a website or anything like that is nearly impossible. Check your pm's I sent you a link that might help find them. GL

its for downforce... fuck:wallbash:

Hypertek 09-06-08 05:14 AM

if you blow up or zoom the picture *i use firefox with a zoom in plugin for the browser*, you can clearly see they are custom made like i said, they probably just cut the lense out and painted the surrounding

vicious4 09-06-08 06:14 AM

That car is gross. Also I bet those tail lights will get you pulled over pretty quick. (They dont reflect red.)

turboefini88 09-06-08 09:40 AM

Pull the outter lenses off the tails, and smoke out the diffusers. Thats what it looks like they did with those tails. Completely DIY. PM me, I could do it for ya, for a nominal fee of course. lol.

oh i know how to do that too. but the exterior plastic is still going to be red.so its just going to dim the light inside. and maybe darken .

Hypertek 09-06-08 05:48 PM

then custom make them.. like i said you gotta cut out the lense but leave the reflector.

You could even make alteza style if you wanted.. Spray paint the tail housing chrome/silver, put some 4inch led tail lights in the housings with the red lense, then cover it all up in clear plexiglass.

Thankfully you have the option to custom make tail lights, otherwise every highschool dork with an FC would be hitting up ebay for cheap priced china manufactured tail lights lmao
