It'll buff right out...

But seriously, it looks perfectly fixable to me.

Frame damage? Sounds like it'll cost thousands. I'd call insurance. I mean, if you don't use it in a situation like this you might as well sign up for liability only. And don't dawdle on that or they might deny your claim. I'd get pics and witnesses.

Wow!! Sorry man such a beautiful car. It looks like it only dented the A pillar. But if it DID bend it some.. the car may be a loss. Once an A pillar is bent, it really cant be put back AND be structurally as strong as it was.

However, if they do total it.. and you are willing to risk driving it. You would collect the full value minus the buyback value... Then use the money to fix or try to fix it. And pocket the rest for your next RX7.

Hope the car is ok though... it sure is restored nicely.

The A pillar can be bent back and strengthened to good or better than new. Major work like this is only usually done on cars that still hold lots of value like late model cars. Virtually anything on a car made of steel can be repaired, welds can be drilled and major panels can be replaced including a pillars.

that really sucks, but comprehensive ftw. these repairs are what comp. is made for. definately call your insurance company. your rates won't go up because it was nature's wrath, not driver's error.

We had some nuts weather a few years ago - 90+ MPH winds (also not tornados.) The neighbor's shed, which was anchored several feet deep, blew off and folded clean in half around a telephone pole support wire. Where was also sheets of hail. Yes, SHEETS OF HAIL. I think it was close to an inch solid of hail on the ground. Did wonders for my poor 7, but the paint job was already fucked on it.

As for your car, I've seen much worse. My cousin had a giant oak tree fall on the middle of the roof of her Saturn in a wind storm. It should be fixable for the amount it is insured for, but I've been surprised before.

Sucks man, things like that keep me up at night. I've got bad enough luck that eventually it'll happen to me also...it'll wait till I put a new top and have my car painted. And now that I've jinxed myself.....

Hey, you're in Lawrenceville- I'm up on the Gainesville/Forsyth line. Do you go to the OGTA meets (in my sig)? But, sorry about the car. Atleast the insurance is paying for repairs instead of you

Get even, go mad with a chain saw and cut down every tree in your neighborhood. That'll teach those ******* trees........wait, don't do that because if you do, you'll wreck and hit the first tree after you leave your neighborhood. It just happens that way.

"The tree had 3 houses, a ditch, 16 rows of bushes, and a bicycle in front of it and I missed everything and got the tree to the frame rail."

I dont go to many meets these days, but i hope to soon once i get this and my 1995 all fixed up.

It would be Irv (Keiths dad) and myself, I would assume.

Insurance has been notified.
I expect a claims adjuster to call today or tomorrow.

When he shows up and sees the paddock of '7s i have, hopefully he'll know he's dealing with someone who knows the costs and values of these cars.

I have handled many insurance claims for friends becuase of the abuse that people expect (and are willing to put up with) from thier insurance companies.

I have even gone so far as to get limited powers of attorney to handle issues for friends.

I expect my company (Allstate) to treat me failrly, especially since have a stated value of 8,500 on the car and have paid that premium for years.
