what years did they start putting the cd players on
My 1987 TII has one... had the price on the original window sticker for around $700 for it to be added on as an option when the original owner bought it. Shit still works great and sounds awesome! *knock on wood* but no skipping issues or anything really. I have no plans to change it as of right now b/c its got tape, radio, and cd! lol. But it will only accept Sony CD-R burned cd's with no problems. Anything else it won't read. I like it and hope it works forever. lol.

didn't some oem come with a cd changer in the rear driverside compartment? i remember my last fc had one
cool bro i think i am getting rid of mines then i thaught they were rare since i never seen them in a actual working car
if you switch CD players to aftermarket you have to put in a rely for your anttena or it wont work right.
I've seen good condition OEM CD players fetch ~$200 on ebay. Then again I've seen them advertised here for ~$40 with no takers, so I dunno. I've got a spare S5 vert one for when mine craps out but they are pretty cool. First triple media stereo unit I ever saw anyway...
i have one too for sale; but i haven't posted it up. I wanted to use it but I remembered I'll be putting a wide band in the din area, so I have to go after market.
I was thinking about trying to pick up a stock CD player for my S4 so if ya'll really wanna get rid of one, hit me up! :icon_tup:
my factory cd player skipped if you looked at it funny, and back in the day would I could not get it to play a single recorded CD.

edit: i just saw the faqs but i honestly don't know how to do any kind of wiring |
ahhhh but no mp3 compatibility. the prior headunit i put in my benz had a usb port which i used to rock 2gb memory sticks with mp3s and never had to burn cds again.. was awesome
i had a 90 with a working factory CD player... sometimes it would play burned CDs!
Sometimes I have to fool mine with a regular CD before it'll accept a burned one.
Some CDs just won't play no matter how many times I shove them in, lol. |
