Arrow Handbrake solutions?

I was told by Mazda that my new handbrake handle would be arriving soon. Weeks later I'm being told they are now discontinued. WTF? I wanted to ditch my old one and put something different on. What handles have you guys used, besides stock? Pics of your setup?

Oh, I see that this has not been a HOT topic as a search has yielded nothing.

I bought this last year at the Mazda dealer. It's for an S5. Part number N070-44-034, if you want to go with a leather S5 hand brake handle.

BMX grips?! I'm thinking florescent green on black. lol

Thanks for the reply Jerry. My s5 one Is tired looking. If I can't get something different than I may have to outsource to Mazdatrix or another dealership..

I went with the Momo Airmetal shift **** and wanted to get the matching brake handle. I noticed Momos site Is currently under construction so there Is no way of varifiying If they have a handle for the FC. Checking on ebay shows they have for the 90-97 Miata. Would this fit?

Here Is what I am talking about:

Pic of a 90-97 Miata:

280z e brake handle is a big upgrade over the s4 (and I like it better than the s5 as well)

no bolts required. pull off the oem one and slide the new one on. just dont touch the release button or any linkage that goes to it!

Thanks man. If only I had the 5 spd rx-8 ****....but I'd rather have gas for 2 months, lol.

The hardest part of the handle swap is getting if off the z in the first place, just have to twist the **** as you pull it off to break the glue at the base.

What's wrong with the stock one?! My thought: It's just a handbrake. Spend your money elsewhere.

I agree that unless the rest of your car is in great condition, it is a waste to spend real money on an e-brake handle. However one does interact with the interior every time they drive their car. Plus...

1. The stock S4 handle is cheap and looks/feels that way. The stock S5 handle looks/feels decent until the leather starts to peel, then see part 1.
2. Everything can be improved
3. $1 for a 280z handle at my local yard....kinda hard to dispute the cost/benifit
4. <---Insert joke comparing the cost of a shift **** to the cost of a v-mount setup..... j/k

not exactly a abundance of 280zs sitting in yards anymore, and no pick and pulls.
seems a s5 is easier to come by on a forum

Well, if things like high taxes, awful winters and shitty drivers are what you find to be useful it would seem we have a mutually beneficial arrangement

Well, as It stands this momo handbrake cover is suitable for the FD, as they don't make It for the FC.
It might need slightly modification or something providing It fits to begin with. Has anyone had a good looksy at a FD e-brake handle lately?

silverrotor- I feel a nice boot around the ebrake has more of a effect then the handle itself, have you had any luck finding a s5 handle?
