Found the 15x8 fit I was looking for

15x8 +0 in the front
15x8 -4 rear

The wheels are +6 offset and I'm using a 6mm spacer in the front and 10mm in the rear... 205-50-115 all around.

I went with these because my pathetic NA rotary cannot spin the 18's while drifting and they are cheap... look good too.

$35 a wheel you cannot go wrong... these are more for function not look. :icon_tup:

I need something with a small OD that was cheap.

finishline 06-12-09 11:44 AM

hopefully i'll be rocking the same set of wheel dimensions...

sunburn 06-12-09 11:51 AM

Oh yeah here are my "look good" wheels:

Alex Rodriguez 06-12-09 07:57 PM

what happened to the fronts bro

RRTEC 06-12-09 08:28 PM

if those arent "diamond Racing" they probably weigh a TON!!!!

lonetlan 06-12-09 08:32 PM

The first pic, they are like hellaflush. The second, add the "I can take on anything" look! Good Job!

Grip 06-12-09 08:44 PM

whats the rear size of your "look good wheels"?

18x9.5" +27
They are going on the front after my engine swap and I'm getting 18x10.5" for the rear.... gonna need some traction :)

They are about 22lbs each... $35 the diamond racing are 17lbs $110 considering I'm only going to run them for a few months I got the cheaper wheels.
It's funny, my 18x9.5 Enkei were lighter than the 15x8 like I said earlier I don;t really care... the OD dropped enough that I can spin them more -thats what I was looking for.

RRTEC 06-12-09 09:13 PM

Great for that race inspired look..

NCross 06-13-09 09:10 AM

22 pounds for just the wheel! Yowza! Sorry, but I'm used to running 11 pound BBS and my 13.5 pound Rota Panasport replicas. That seems a bit heavy.

Ilovedrifting 06-13-09 08:03 PM

Where the hell did you get them for that price??? the 15by8s I need something for events!!!

I already said they are heavy... I don't care.

Summit Racing has them, so do many other sites -your going to at least need 6mm spacers in the front and some trimming of the caliper to make them fit.

If your going for the same look and want something lite weight check out Diamond Racing or Bassett wheels... look for a 0 offeset.

I don't understand? Isn't traction a function of tires?

Grip 06-14-09 06:21 PM

its easier for a low hp engine to spin smaller wheels with low grip tires, than it is for the same low hp engine to spin large wheels with the same low grip tires.

think about it.

MaczPayne 06-14-09 06:23 PM

I could think about it, but then I calculated it instead. Seems like if both wheels ran the same width and brand of tires, the 15inch wheel would be slightly easier to spin because it has lower rotational inertia.

i gotta a buddy that works at Schwabs, they sell these wheels to mud boggers all day long. was gonna get them for the same exact reason but went a different route. still, they look pretty good. you should get smaller tires though, hella slammed drifter style.

I know... I just put FALKEN AZENIS RT-615 on the front 205/50/15 and will leave the 205/60 on the rear till I burn through them all then downsize.

The 205/50 is Soooooo much better... I'll take pics later tonight.

cosmo7 06-26-09 08:39 PM

Dope rims bro. Do they got bigger sizes?

mario1386 06-27-09 08:05 AM

do they come in 16? where u bought them in interested in getting a set

sunburn 07-03-09 04:04 PM

Got some 205/50 Azenis RT-615 for the front:

Need to lower it a bit -but then when I put the Enkei back on I'll have to adjust the coilovers every time.... :icon_no2: I think I'm just going to lower the front and run these for the season.

mario1386 07-03-09 04:15 PM

what brand is the wheels? that u have on the car for i can look it up

I overnighted them from Japan. :101384_l:

The wheels are Crager Soft 8 15x8 in a +6 offset WITH SPACERS 6mm front and 10mm rear... The front CALIPERS SHAVED for clearance.
This is not a bolt on affair and will require a small amount of common sense and effort.

please no one else PM me or ask what wheels they are.... read the fucking thread.

mario1386 07-03-09 04:26 PM

thank u

Skifledanabit 12-06-09 05:52 PM

I don't suppose anyone knows if you can get these in the UK at all? Or what would be the best procedure for doing so? Importing things cost so much more money!

batmanfc 12-07-09 04:20 PM

How come you had to trim the calipers?

DrifterX 08-14-10 01:45 PM

bump lol

If you're running stock tire sizes, why not go with stock wheels?

Overnight.

PnoyRx7 06-10-12 12:35 AM

Lol im going to zombie this thread to find out exactly how much and where the calipers need to be trimmed before purchasing similar rims

rx7freak13v 06-10-12 09:27 AM

im very curious about those 13lbs each ones that look similar. i can't justify putting larger wheels under my car when my oem bbs's weigh 12.4lbs each and aftermarket stuff weighs 17-22lbs each. the heavier wheels require more power to turn and make the car feel less responsive. i guess when it's a boosted motor you can turn up the boost another notch to compensate, but im not into the turbo thing. im building an na motor (plus class restricts it lol)

MrGoodnight 06-15-12 04:00 PM

.

beachFC 06-15-12 06:46 PM

wait a minute :l

you got these wheels to downsize, and be able to spin more?

205/60-15's are almost exactly the same size 18's with 215/40, and i mean almost exactly as in, there is only a 2mm difference in diameter :pat: and you said yourself that they are lighter

all you did was buy heavier wheels, that are 3 inches smaller in diameter, and then made up for it with a 5" tire?

in short, that would be like doing weight reduction in your car, and then welding 100lbs of steel to it

rx7freak13v 06-16-12 06:48 PM

the rim doesn't compress for rotation like the tires do. the rubber compound will give allowing the wheels to turn easier then an 18" wheel which has short sidewall tires on it.

however with the difference in weight the 18's should have still be easier to turn. are you sure that you didn't do anything else performance wise when you installed these heavier wheels? i would understand if you went from an 18" wheel to some stock bbs wheels which only weigh in at 12.6 pounds a piece but not those heavy things

beachFC 06-17-12 02:54 AM

I didnt even realize this was such an old thread -___- nvm.
