Fc S5 Convertible Top Motors?

I've heard that the motors to power the top on the convertibles are rather heavy. Is this true? If so, has anyone tried to remove them in order to reduce weight? Hahaha is it even possible? Thanks guys

They're not that heavy. Maybe 5-10lbs each.
