Fc guys are good with a penny... what could/would you do with $3500 and a stock vert?
So August going to be getting $3500, what should I do? Just looking for ideas right now. The main idea has been just to do straight stock TII swap... or doing a simple Corksport body kit (nothing stupid like a wing) or there is doing interior work seats, carpet, dash ect ect... road. I am not wanting a full on race car, I am just looking for a fun comfortable fast car. Any ideas, what would you guys do?

id save the money...

im not sure what performance mods have been done to squeeb's ride, but some good suspension goodies and wheels will overall make the car more enjoyable if its already running good
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...26b06594_b.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...03a02213_b.jpg and than theres Shika805's car http://i330.photobucket.com/albums/l.../1IMG_3717.jpg http://i330.photobucket.com/albums/l.../1IMG_3753.jpg So my suggestion, suspension and japanese wheels. |
I'd go with hypertek's suspension + some reliability/power mods, such as the exhaust, radiator, and intake.
|
wheels
suspension T2 swap done |
Coilovers, rims, RB exhaust.

well thats given that the vert has some good paint, clean engine bay and all that!
post pics so we can get a better idea of what were working with  Paint is good for being almost 20, the bay is good for the most part, she is one of the stronger stock N/A's I have driven. But the wiring on the other had is a bit of another story really want to redo it. The guy who had it gutted the back of it (were the top goes down) so I am trying to get all pieces that were back there back right now and that's going good for the most part... He also did get a ok exhaust on there that I am happy with. There are some small dents above the rear diver side wheel-well, the right front fender some dumb ass kicked it in... I have some fiberglass wider body fenders (don't hardly add any width) someone gave me, I was going to put them on... but still have not got around to it and the longer I have them, the more I just don't think they work with it (driver side is perfect but the passenger side need a bit of glass work). Right now I just want to trade both for a stock one. And someone took my center caps off my wheels haha and man vert caps are a bitch to get back too haha Other then that she is just your normal 91' white vert with the blue interior and 10ae tails just your run of the mil vert. |
if your engine is going out, than do tII swap. get most of the expensive stuff out of the way =)
If the car looks sexy as is, do that man, reliable and comfort are great in my book. |

I hate it when guys say "yeah I have 400HP my car is awesome fast!" and they are sitting on a bucket, there car looks like my week old wrinkled laundry with 12 different shades of body parts. Come on man! You look good, you feel good haha its all about the comfort especially in a vert... so much to do so little money. |
$3,500 would get you the a set of REAL NICE rims for say $1,500 - $2,000. Follow that up with Coilovers for $1,000 ~ $1,200. Leaves you with $300 ~ $1000 for Aluminum Radiator + Catback.
Or a straight-up Stock TII Swap. but thats a lot of work =|. I wish I had $3,500 to dump on my car. |
I can install the motor my self so I can save some with doing that. But the only real thing I worry about is if I go for the TII is, the will I get a good one... JDM you never really know what your going to get just like if you get a domestic one, Just knowing my luck it will not last long and need a rebuild... but then I could always send it away and have it street ported and put 3mm seals an lightened rotors ect ect... but i think that be a little more saving be for all that would be done haha. Or there is the RE... no no I am not going there... but I could hmm... Hell if that one guy could do a 20b for $1000 a RE should be cake for $3500 haha No no stop dreaming :tear:
The joy of being young having a ok paying job and no loans I get to dump cash in my car... its a money pit :burn: but I still love her haha |
T2 swap for now then save for wheels and tires and suspention. lol sorry turbo vert>everything else LOL

you have to decide if you want show or go, and what your plans are after that $3500 is spent, you have to plan the car in your head from start to finish- being realistic of course
|
Yep.
If i had a vert and $3500, i'd buy a 240 and sell the vert. No bullshit. I've seen some awesome verts but they just aren't my cup of tea. Knowing my luck, some fuckhead would slash the top first day of ownership. :( someone already keyed my daily (doesn't matter since it looks like shit and doesn't run atm anyway) and broke into my parts car. passenger door was open and parts were thrown all over the yard when i woke up one morning. Also :( |

personally I would do engine upgrades before wheels and suspension, by engine upgrades I mean a TII swap.
|

I honestly want to buy a Vert, leave it stock other then:
Mariah intake, full Racing Beat true dual exhaust, some of RB's springs, some dampers, and then reliability modifications. Finally a set of wheels, then you have a beautiful top down cruiser. |
^
Agreed! Buy a TII if you want boost. |
stop it, a turbo vert is heaven
