FC alarm
ive been reading around and im wondering something about my starting issue.
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...start-1031213/ do fc bases have any type of factory alarm system, i think the 3 threads i looked at were all fd's. and if not...my car has an aftermarket viper alarm. i was doing some research and almost all viper systems have some type of killswitch in them. is there a way to disconnect my viper without cutting wires or completely removing it. im not going to lie, i havent had an poourtunity to look into it yet, but is there possibly a fuse in the brain of this thing or something. itll start cranking just fine but itll slowly start winding down and then just not do anything. it wont get to the point where itll just start clicking. just crank ungodly slow |

is there a way to disable this?

I've never really looked into it to see how it works and what it's connected to.
I assume it can be removed entirely but not sure how involved that might be. |
because the more and more reading i do on it alot of people are saying that if i unlock my doors from the inside it arms the factory alarm once i turn the car off. my car has no factory red blinking light like you would usually see on a newer car. but when the viper was installed the bypassed the horn/light functions of the factory alarm and routed those into the function of the viper.
*also...when i have the doors shut on my car and i start it, the doors automatically lock, and when i shut it off the doors unlock.* |
How do you unlock doors from the inside?
|
pull the lock tab up. my car doesnt have power windows or locks so i dont have a button for it
|
My alarm was glitching big time and i was fed up with it. I asked around and found out the cpu is underneath the glove box or something. Its a silver box. Unplug it = no more alarm.

Yes, the security system was standard on all models.
So the OP does not have the factory alarm and security system. |
Thanks for the correction.
|
well onto my next question then....what could possibly be drawing power and killing my battery?
|
Put your multimeter between the battery + and the cable and start pulling fuses till the draw stops...you'll know which circuit, if not the specific component, that's pulling the power.
I'd suspect the aftermarket alarm or the stereo (if not OEM) as likely culprits but testing is the way to be sure. |
cool...ill try that, thanks
