Dumb Steering Wheel/Hub Question
Hello all, I'm looking at a new steering wheel for my vert and had a quick question about hubs and quick disconnects? I'm looking at the Nardi-Personal Grinta black suede/red stitching and passwordjdm recommends NRG hubs, but people on the forum (upon searching) seem to indicate I need a hub and an adapter or some combination of something? Can anybody answer a dumb noob question? What hub/qd/combo do I need for that wheel? Heres the link to the site I'll probably order from. http://passwordjdm.com/Personal-Stee...heel-C368.aspx

you need something like this: http://passwordjdm.com/Momo-Civic-St...P2500C425.aspx in order to attach your aftermarket wheel onto the steering column.

You need a boss hub that fits for your particular wheel. Here's one that would fit your steering wheel:

Just get the NRG quick release and model specific short hub. You don't NEED a Boss hub, or NEED the MOMO hub. I have the NRG quick release 2.0 and FC3S short hub, and works perfectly without a hitch. Here's some pics of my setup.

NRG short hub doesn't work on the Vert since it has a airbag. The added connectors block you from bolting it onto the column. Trust me I tried. You need the boss hub on a Vert.

Hmmm....crap. Well then, what's the best company for a boss hub? Any recommendations?
|
|
Alright then. Thanks!

Ahhh, sorry, wasn't aware the Vert had the airbags... And to make a correction, my quick release is the 2.5, not the 2.0. Good luck in your quest to find the perfect combo!

I really wish the stearing column had a tilt wheel.. Or am I the only one who wishes this.. ?

as far as your aftermarket steering wheel goes. There are 2 choices: 1. Do you want your steering wheel close to you 2. or far from you so you can adjust the seat a little better.... you can get a flat faced steering wheel or a concave one then you have to choose a hub (adapter) mom and boss make longer ones and NRG offers a hub adapter that is like 3/4" thick as well as a QR. if you run that NRG combo you keep the wheel close to stock location. When you do a bigger adapter and QR plus a concave wheel, good luck reaching the blinker haha I had the NRG 2.0 hub and QR with a concave wheel and it was perfect PS: You can use any 6 bolt hub and quick release with that. Even a ebay one like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-HUB-ADAP...item27bfa02a12 |
I'd prefer a setup as close to stock as possible. I'm a pretty short guy, and the stock setup works pretty well for me. So I guess it's a boss hub and the NRG adapter/QR then. It'll be a little while before I order this, so I have time to think.

Would this hub work? http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/w...-p-116555.html If I get this and this adapter http://www.andysautosport.com/mazda/...i00204548.html I should be okay, right? I don't want a quick release, really. Seems kinda pointless if I'm not racing or anything with it. It's gonna have a nice alarm later in it's life, so I'm not worrying about it really.
