Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. That being said you would have to ask them (Taymon design) for the paint codes. Can also bring those pics to a paint shop and they should be able to match it closely.

since no one knows the color how bout we make this interesting and put up pictures of insane colors that would look nice on Fc

Go to your local auto body supply and pick a color from house of kolors or hot hues or something along those lines.
Unless they painted it with a paint we use in this country you could be wasting your time. Last time I got a paint code ( from Italy ) my local suppliers had no idea what it meant, they use different paints over there. |
Or you could fly yourself and your car out there and find someone there to paint it.
Hey, it was just an idea. lol |
bright yellow looks sick! like the one featured on modified mag...theres pics floating around here somewhere
|
 at post #2. |
know tamon and lots of other custom shops, they mix their own colors, i do it all the time for special jobs
|
the green looks like a tri-coat. Prolly green pearl over black base. the lighting and other camera settings really make hard to tell from picture.
Im sure you can get the same effect with some Green pearl that turns a lil gold. thats what it looks like. You can add a few grams up to an ounce (28 grams) per quart. if its too muddy then make that a 2 quarts. more product, the less coats for desired effect. oh heres my fc in chameleon flake over black. http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l...s/96275bc3.jpg i did the paint myself so its not the greatest, but im learning. |
a little of this and a little of that is cool for something you think you are going to paint often, but the ability to go into your local paint supply and always get more paint for your car is a huge benefit. You may want to change something on your car after its painted and not want to deal with trying to get that paint combo again. You can go into your paint supply and choose from a huge array of custom type colors that can be mixed at any time.
There are some really awesome paints out there and trust me you aint ever going to run into someone with the same color Beware though- Custom colors are also harder to pull off, nothing worse then a crappy bodywork and poor paint quality funky color paint job, cars that pull off wild colors the best do it partially because of the quality of the job |

Has any one experimented with matte colors other then black?
i checked out hotrod flatz and they have a huge selection but want to know if those colors can be blended to get tri-color effects? |
I know matte white is pretty cool. lol
|
yea a tri-coat on a matte will prolly take the matte finish away. if you use dbc as the mid coat then it wont look too glossy but might not look matte. Additives can make the top clear coat matte, that way the UV rays dont kill the base coats.
Rob, i know what you mean. My paint jobs are getting better (ive only got 4 under my belt). But any one who knows anything about bodywork, paint gives me shit. I will be in some grueling drift competitions this year and it would suck to have all that work go down the drain with one lil tap or a major crash. Tandem drifto can be pretty intense. but i love what i do and it will pay off when i build my next FC. That way the paints perfect |
