The "Daily Driver" Interior Thread
4 Attachment(s)
Hey everybody.
For the past six years, I have been piecing my interior together slowly as I daily drive my FC. It started out pretty ugly; no radio surround, no radio (Horrors!), stock shifter & shifter knob (bleh!), torn driver's seat, ...I could go on. I have decided to make this thread for everybody/anybody who wants to show off their interiors. Yeah, I'm sure this has been done before. But let's face it; any interior threads floating around in this forum probably have outdated pictures. So to continue my story for those who are still reading: Today I pulled in the driveway after getting home from work, and looked around; I realized my interior is almost done. After thinking it over, I decided to start taking pictures. Here are a few of the better ones. Home away from home: Attachment 695510 Shifter, parking brake (I machined the handle & button from billet Aluminum), center console... Attachment 695511 Passenger side view... Bet you can't guess what kind of car the drivers seat is from; it has a story behind it like everything else in/on this car. Attachment 695512 And finally, a gauge cluster that is finally surrounded by an intact bezel. (Small victory) Attachment 695513 So that's what I have so far. Post 'em if you have 'em. :icon_tup: |
Dude, for a 70's style chiq... it looks awesome

70s style??? Wut? How could something so terminally 80s have a 70s style?
Besides, there were lots of things in auto-coolness that have their roots in the 70s. Nice job! Now get some replacement peddle pads :) -RR |
is that a 1st gen steering wheel, I like it

(Like jaguars, factory GXL's that haven't seen the light of day, etc...) It's going to be plain 'ol grip tape for my ride. Oh, and finding pedal pads that fit or aren't Ricetastic pink anodized aluminum with thirty 1/4-20 screws to bolt them on with is impossible in this place. (Sorry for double post) |
Being born in the late 80's, my judgement of 70's anything is a... skewed... lemme retract that last statement... and say; Nice interior, man

So fresh! Personally I despise cup holders. On long trips I just wedge a 20oz between the door and the seat! Bam, instant beverage holder.

Yeah it came out of a friend's old GSL-SE. The leather it was wrapped in was horrible so it had to be removed. :( But the vinyl is almost perfect. I painted the horn button black and found a black Mazda logo on a B2200 pickup steering wheel, which just happens to be the same type wheel. /off to the junkyard! anyways: Before: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...842_4_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...842_8_full.jpg Factory 2+2 with cheap ebay seats, grey interior with just shit after I painted it: when I put an interior in it! https://img68.imageshack.us/img68/2464/1000249hf2.jpg https://img68.imageshack.us/img68/2278/1000247pi2.jpg AFTER AFTER (what it is now) https://img832.imageshack.us/img832/8233/imag0245j.jpg https://img231.imageshack.us/img231/3126/imag0246z.jpg *note* the battery is meerly resting there, it is actually behind the passenger seat. |

and the trunk https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...79024899_n.jpg heres mine, so much time and money has been spent restoring the interior Lloyd |
Great interiors! This is sweet. I wanted to do this because I didn't have any inspiration to go off of with mine when I first started, so I had to develop everything on my own from scratch. It's refreshing to see other peoples ideas when trying to develop a plan of action.
I hope people can gather something from this thread. Keep them coming! Even works in progress, clean factory interiors, etc. It's all good. :) |

^Clean blue interiors rock.
I don't know how you guys convince yourselves into keeping the red/brown interior. I'm in the process of redoing my interior. I hate the layout of the interior. No room to cleanly put anything aftermarket except for cluttering it on top of the dash. I wish the layout was more like the mkiii supra's... |
