CosmoQuick's 86GXL Restoration Build Thread

Hello peoples, well to make a long story
short I paid almost nothing for the car
with 112k on it pretty clean chassis
that has never been wrecked here i
s what it looked like when i got it

Here it is as of now four months later.
I have almost finished the bodywork
and block sanding, next will be two
coat of primer followed with another
block sanding another coat of primer
with guide coat and another block session.
As it is pretty damn cold right now I am
taking my sweetass time with the prep
due to weather lol.

As for the build plan, I am going to
completely upgrade and mod the
suspention systen with a set modded
knuckles and supernow tierod ends,
brakes are done already, as for the
engine 13b n/a with all the normal bolt
on crap, ss lines and AN fitting,
koyorad radiator, blahblah yaddayadda
The interiors....... well what interior a dash,
two door panels, two racing seat and
harnesses and a 6 point roll cage,
drop-in 12gallon fuel cell, aeromotive fuel pump,
ss lines, AN fittings, after i get it on the
road im hoping to swat a streetport
13bt and build a custom turbo mani run
a nice gt40 twin gated fmic super street slut

ps sorry for the picture sizes fellas if a mod
would like to resize them for me that would
be ok i tried with no avail in success

I'm doing a similar project, everything gutted, but i'm a noob to body/chassis/electrical so I haven't been workin on it much. Interior is not completely gutted, wiring/heater/ac components/steering is still on there. I'm glad you posted this CosmoQuik, gives me an idea of where I need to be to get things rollin.

well honestly i gutted it for the reasons of total color change and the rollcage being installed, and deletion of alot of weight as the car sits now it weights roughly 1k-1200lbs in hopes of tipping the scale alittle under 2800lbs when finished with out fuel and driver, thats cool that you are also doing this we can watch each other progress as we go along

Well you know how this kinda stuff goes...you expect to finish in less than 2 months..and you blink and find yourself 1 year out and still not done.

lol j/k Sounds like with what you have done so far, you have the ability to finish in a timely manner. Unfortunately for many of us, we don't have the luxury of shell prep time nor the resources either.
