Sounds cool... But when the sun comes through the trees and the glare blinds you on one of those scenic mountain passes, you'll have plenty of time to think about what could have been while you wait for a tow truck

sleeping-7 08-04-11 12:07 AM

It's not any different from driving a silver metallic/white car with a nice shiny paint finish.

sharingan 19 08-04-11 12:17 AM

Then we have different definitions of "full polished" lol. I have never seen any car (aside frome the chrome-dipped Tron edition audi r8) that was remotely close to the luster of a properly polished aluminum part, and I'm pretty sure that isn't driven daily. Polishing w/spit and steel wool would yield a finish similar to a silver painted hood, but a proper polishing w/ appropriate running compounds would look more like your wheels, which I would imagine catch a bit more light.

I've ridden a fully chrome (all body panels) VROD. I can tell you this, he will have to wear sunglasses every time he drives if that is getting a full polish. If the glare off of the front fender and tank of a bike can be that bad, the hood of an FC will reflect a lot of light.

Saavedro88 08-08-11 06:51 AM

Furb, that car is WAYYY to clean to be on that track. Love it.

Furb 08-08-11 07:50 AM

Thnx :)
I already decided not to compete in the Dutch Time-Attack series anymore..
Regulations changed and that means i have to install a roll-cage considering my laptimes.
I like trackdays, but most important for me is that i can take it out for a weekend trip or even holiday if i want to.
Putting in a roll-cage will take the fun out of it, and i like the interior :)
