another wheel ftment question
 

alright, here's the dealio:
i've got a set of 15x7 0 offset wheels. 195/55 tires. tein flex coilovers. camber adjust bars in the rear.
will the flex allow me enough neg camber to fit these wheels without rolling fenders? i want to go low. like real low. but i won't deface the car to make them fit.
sorry, it's just not a lot of people on the boards seem to be running low offset 15's, so i couldn't really turn up much info on a search
as always, any insight is appreciated

You won't be able to go very low at all without rolling or cutting the fenders, the fender sticks into the wheel well a good 3/4 of an inch if I remember correctly. It's not "Defacing" if you do it properly.

Tein Flex won't get you ANYWHERE near "real low".. Unless you droop the springs like 2".

There's even some SPRINGS that offer the same amount of drop that Tein offers.

I believe they are only rated for a 2" drop. Which likely won't even tuck tire :(

Had Teins, and better ones too. The flex are the base model.

Tein lists on their site, that their coils only offer a minimal drop. I believe something like 2"

The wheels are gonna fit fine, only because the coils won't go anywhere near low :(

Tein is great for functionality, but to slam your car, there isn't a worse coilover

well they were on the s5 na and i could barely squeeze a finger between the fender and 195/55/15's. and still had quite a number of threads to go. and the s4 is t2. heavier so should sit even lower.
i'd rather use other wheels than roll my fenders. not that there's anything wrong with it. each their own. the car's clean and i'm just not into that.

Well, it could look like you have plenty of threads, but if the shock body is already bottoming out in the mount, that's all you'll get, unless you lower by removing preload. Which shortens the life of the damper

yea, i was pretty stoked to get these on. oh well, there'll always be other wheels. don't need to make the car fit the wheels. what i really want is some white regamasters in 16.

i don't really think i'll need to mess with the preload. but, maybe if i need to lower preload a tad, i'll try and compensate and set dampening to the stiffest setting. but i really don't think i need to go there. but even if i do, as you mentioned, flex are just an entry level kit anyways. we'll see in the next couple weeks when i finally get my tranny back in :)

just went out to the garage and i see what you're saying about the sleeve bottoming out on the body. can't really see how many threads are left before that happens. got to thinking, and this could be remedied by removing the sleeve and shortening it. shouldn't be that difficult to do. i've got a metal chop saw :) i'd do that before messing with the preload

I would call Tein first, you might cut into the damper, and completely ruin it

Lowest I've ever had was ksport kontrol pros, can slam the thing nearly frame to ground.

could also cut the bottom of the body so it's open. would only work for the fronts tho

I can do the same thing on my Megan's, Plus I actually have consistent dampener rates. K-sports are the cheapest for a reason.

I'm happy for u, but I haven't had any dampening issues yet. Then again the car isn't a dd so it only sees occasional abuse.
