Look at your center console. It should have an alarm light that is orange that says "Security" on it. The car uses the factroy horn and no seperate alarm.

It uses the horn. I found out they had alarms when I left the top open at the grocery store and just reached in to unlock it without the key. It was loud.

I made that mistake, then it took me a couple of minutes to figure out you have to re-lock the door and open it with the key to get it to stop :icon_tdow

Well there is a fault somewhere in the security system. The first places to look are the security light itself. Pull up the console. It's just clipped in, you need a flat blade or something similar to pop it out. Check and make sure it's connected. Next would be to look at you door locks and make sure all the wireing there is good. You can check to see if the system works by locking the doors (window down) and then unlocking them by pulling up on the lock inside the car, not by using the key from the outside. This will set the alarm off if everything is working properly. To get the alarm to shut off, lock and then unlock the door from the outside with the key.

There are also sensors in the trunk and hood that act the same way the door locks do. The security system won't arm if it thinks these are open.
