They aren’t cheap to build from scratch and most people add value to those cars that have a winning pedigree (although since no internal mods are allowed on this engine it’s about the bolt on sand set up) I’d say it also depends on the spares package. How many wheels are you getting? Clean logbook? Dyno sheets? Transponder? In car video set up? Head restraint seat? More details....

For the most part just car with a seat ready to go... no spares, transponders , or dyno.

It does have high grade equipment... bilstein adjustable coil overs, Mazda beat full stainless exhaust , quality with gussets ... a gauge for everything including EG.

Oh... I'm not sure about the gears. It revs pretty quick, and I cannot tell if it's the gears or a light weight flywheel.

Starts first try cold or hot ... plenty of power for the motor.

We need a little more to help you value it. Is there an ad posted somewhere that you can send or link to? Does the car have an SCCA log book? That would be needed to show the cage has passed tech and is safe. I've seen gusseted cages not be built to the letter of the rules and get bounced. has it been majorly crashed and repaired? From the one picture, and assuming the roll cage is SCCA legal, I'd put it somewhere between $2500 and $9000. What rear end gear? which 5th gear is in the transmission? what type oil cooler set up? (stock won't cut it) I assume you meant it has the Racing beat exhaust. Nice set up, but not totally optimized for an ITS car. Andy knows these cars pretty well also. Get us some info and we'll help.

Cage is legal and has very on it. Correct on the exhaust being racing beat.

I don't have a lot of details short of driving it. The car traded hands from the original owner. He had a stroke and wasn't able to race. 1 person bought it trying to make a quick profit. The 2nd planned to race it, but realized he couldn't do it alone (no pit crew).

I've driven it.. started it cold and hot. Revs , runs, drives nicely.

I paid $4500 with new tires. The seller lost a grand. I know bc I almost bought it for $5 before him without new tires.

We race an SA full bridge and have a spare 13b bridge engine. Honestly, I'm excited about the 13b bridge in this. I'd say this car and the SA are apples and oranges. Not better .... just different.

Do you have any more details about the suspension set up? Are they actually Bilstein coilovers or are they coil springs with Bilstein dampers? Is there a fire suppression system? What do you mean by the cage being legal? Does it have an SCCA log book to prove this? Is the transmission stock n/a? Stock clutch type diff? Any adjustable suspension arms in the rear? Any kind of fuel cell or is it stock tank? What is the intake and exhaust setup? You are sure the engine is a bridgeport?

I've been on the hunt for a 2nd gen racecar for a while but really need more info before getting more serious. I live in Iowa but the drive down to Plano is an easy one...

This was one I'm buying... not selling.

I think I stole it for $4.5k. It fits our use and can easily be taken to another level. All of the hard stuff has been done.

There is an EC on eBay for $13k. Also an EC on Craigslist for $6, but no motor.

If you're happy with the purchase, that's all that matters.

In ITS, porting of any type is forbidden in 13B FC's. not even a street port. Not sure of your tracks out there, but to be competitive here, you need a pretty healthy car. A strong stock engine with the RB exhaust and bilsteins will leave you at least 6 seconds per lap off the pace at Daytona and probably more than that at Sebring. As long as you pass tech, you will get to play and have some fun. It won't be long before you'll be wanting to spend money on parts.

When a car is slower than the field, it is more difficult to assess driver skill and improvement. This is usually the area that needs the more development and is the hardest to overcome. The formula for a 95% ITS RX7 is pretty straight forward--tried and true. You need at least 175 hp to the wheels..The fast guys have more. You need the right rear gear..It's probably a custom machined gear at around $2500. The GTUs 5th gear will keep the revs up when you shift out of 4th. The Torsen style diff's seem to free the car up some, but I've seen fast cars with Clutch types also. Oil and water temps can both be a problem. Proper ducting is essential.

That's a start and not trying to discourage. Drive what you've got and work on the driver. Get some seat time and then see what needs to be done.
