17x9 and 17x10 Saleen SC Rep on Fc, what tires will fit ?
I'm wanting to get some saleen sc replicas for my fc, front 17x9 +24 offset , rear would be 17x10 +20 offset, I could run all 17x9 x 24 if I decide it will be a better choice.
I've seen a few guys running them , but they were running only 205 front and 225 rear, I'd like to run at least 225 on the front and 245 on the rear, but if i can go wider I wouldn't mind, I'd like to keep stretching the tires to a minimum. Car is currently running 1.5" lowering springs all around, tokico blues, front camber plates, and rear camber bar. I'd like to fit the wheels without having to roll my fenders/stretch tires if possible, let me know what you guys have done, I'm sure I may need some spacers and extended wheel studs, but I'd like to do it without if possible. Heres a picture I found with someone else running them, i believe these are the staggered 17x9 and 17x10 setup

yeah, they fit about how I would expect. the rear is going to be tight unless you stretch the tire like they are. you need more like a +30-35 to fit a 275.
the fronts are perfect. I would run those all the way around with 245s or 255s. you'll need some camber up front (at least -2.5*) and rolled fenders to fit a 255 up front. but it's easily possible. I just saw you're running stock style springs, not coilovers.... you can't do a whole lot with the camber plates and stock springs, because they hit the strut tower. you might be limited to a 225. |
I'm running 03-04 Cobra reps on my '88 TII.
17x9 +24 front 17x10.5 +27 rear The front's fit perfect. The rears poke out just a bit. I actually ran this setup with Racing Beat springs and KYB struts for a few months, but it would rub in the front with no fender roll and the soft spring rates. 225/255 tires. It's pretty low now on coilovers and I have the Ronin Speedwerks "stage 3" camber links which pull a lot of negative camber out of the rear of the car. I took a rubber mallet to the inner finder lip on the rear to make sure I wouldn't cut a tire. With more negative camber (ala stock subframe links) and an actual fender roll, I could fit a 275 I think. For fun, I mocked up a friends 17x9 +38mm with a 275 Nitto NT01 I needed about a 5mm spacer to clear the control arm, but they clear the fenders amazingly well. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...15534452ab.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...f35fca9ee3.jpg |
Run all 235/40/17 all around on 17x9 +24. When you get coilovers and can run more camber in front you can run 245s or even 255s up front.
I've been down the mustang wheel journey... This is 17x9+24 all around with 255/40/17 NT01s https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...80fa21984c.jpg |
17x9 and 17x10 Saleen SC Rep on Fc, what tires will fit ?
Ended up with 225 45 on front and 255 40 on rear and now have stance coilovers. Rear will definitely need rolled. Not sure on front
