Who else welded their UIM and LIM?
 

Who else modified their UIM and LIM to remove the unused nipple instead of putting vacuum caps?

I kept the one for the OMP nipples, one for the boost controller/potentiometer and one for my fuel regulator. Everything else, i TIG welded shut. I'll smooth and clean everything monday morning at the garage, and then paint them to match my freshly rebuild S4 NA.

Done this about eleventy zillion times. :) On a few cars even gone so far as to cut away all the factory EGR/ACV passages, weld where necessary, and completely separate all the runners. Hell of a lot of work.

Hey i'm happy to see that! If you of all people do it too, than i'm more than happy that my idea was a good one after all! I'm pretty surprised tho since i never seen anybody with that mod on the forum or where i live, everybody always say just cap them, but those damn caps are just a weak link waiting to break! What decided me on doing it was when i had to rebuild my engine, all the silicon vacuum cap were cracked, and only a year old...

And i was also very surprised at how easy it was to weld, being 30+ years old aluminium that was in contact with oil/gas/whatever!
