What is this t2 worth
 

Hey guys so i want to offer my neighbor something for his t2, it’s completely stock besides and added hks boost controller, thing is, it’s been sitting in his garage for 20 years and hasn’t teen since it first sat. He said it was rebuilt before it sat and that he abandoned it because the clutch went out. interior is really nice but idk what t2 in this condition or in general are worth cause i never see them on the market, he also says he’s not looking to make profit just trying to get garage space back. Kind of a barn find if i do say so myself 😏 anyways any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU!!!

Unknown condition in today's market varies wildly. People are jacking the prices up and some are very reasonable. I think $5k in today's market is a good starting point, given the unknown condition of everything. You can always ask him what he wants for the car. See where he stands and be fair with him.

Engines sitting for that long usually have problems. Oil control rings dry rot. Pitting on irons and rotors can occur.

If owner is willing to get it running, check for smoke.
