Straight Pipes S5
Yo hows is it going? I got a question about straights pipes and have done some extensive research on the forums but havent gotten a proper answer. So I hear if you do straight pipes you have to worry about two ports or something of that nature either the s5 or s4 have them. What I really just want to know can I go to an exhaust shop, cut out my resonators and cats if I have any with out having to do any modifications other than welding in new tubing to replace them. I plan on keeping my magnaflow mufflers. Thank you in advance!!

If you have a S5, you can do anything you want to the exhaust because the air pump- assuming it's in place and functional- powers your auxiliary ports.
If you have a S4, these ports run off exhaust backpressure. |

clokker is correct about the auxiliary ports, but I would advise against just a straight pipe. It will be loud. It might not be as bad since you're keeping your stock exhaust manifold but I think it's a must with a header. I would spend the extra money and have this welded in. Straight piped RX7s are hilariously loud. You may regret it FYI. You could try it, but you will probably want some quality steel packed silencers and mufflers from Racing Beat.
