Slight bucking between 2500 and 3500 rpm
Hey Everyone,
I'm trying to understand an annoying thing where if I'm holding my RPMs between 2500 and 3500 rpm I'm noticing surging in power transfer. My idle sounds fine, but definitely can feel some wavering in the amount of power that's making its way to my tires. Seems to disappear once I get to around 4k. I'm also only about 650 miles into the breakin on my freshly rebuilt motor, so I wonder if this is something too, but I'm definitely paranoid and want to make sure this isn't an indication of something more major (and also understand a bit more how to troubleshoot things like this :) ) |
Start with a TPS adjustment

Thanks for that advice. Turns out it was quite a bit out (around 1400 ohms for the base reading). Definitely smoothed things out (took 3 full turns inwards though, which seemed sketchy, but it worked).
I noticed that my full throttle reading topped out at 4600 ohms though. Is that too low? And would there be anything I could do about it? :) |
There are a bunch of systems that interact with the throttle plates and adjustment after a large job like engine replacement is uncommon.
4k ohm for the TPS should be fine. I think it only becomes an issue if it goes over the factory spec. For now, enjoy it! |
